Does Outside Temp Calibration Affect AC Operation?
Hi,
I searched for both subject, but did not find any one that talk about the relationship between the Outside Temp Display and the AC control.
Last month I calibrated the OTD to -3, now it reads perfectly. But since then I notice that the AC seems to be a little off.
I set the temp control to 68, fan speed at 1, Mode at "winshield + floor". When I leave the house in the morning, the heater runs fine by blowing warm air.
But when I return in the pm, the OTD will say 65, and the vent will blow out cold air even though I still leave the temp setting at 68.
Is it because the solar sensor on the dash is sensing sunlight and therefore forcing the cold air out?
Oh, the air from the two side vents on the edge of the dash/instrument panel is cooler than the two center vents and the ones for the rear.
Thanks.

not tottally sure about your question but I sure know this
solar sensor only works when you are on AUTO .. (anything like changin direction or fan speed) will get you out of AUTO

pankul,
I calibrated the OTD, now it reads lower than before.
Now, when in the sun, even it is not warm or hot outside (say 60-65 ), when I leave the temp setting at 68, I should be getting heat/warm air, but instead I am getting cold air from the two outside vents. The rest of the vents seem fine.
Does the car think now it is actually warmer outside?
Thanks.
