Love seeing that insurance rate drop. I had to wait 2 years for a ticket to clear and then I was golden.

^ exactly my insurance dropped around $300 for the year now that the ticket is off my record... its funny how insurance companies can raise premiums over a ticket... i mean you didnt cost them any thing but now you are considered a risk just a joke how they can rip you off...

Keep Right Except to Pass
I can't really give an easy answer to that. For the most part I try not to get caught up in the "fuck-you" mentality of DC driving where it seems like people go out of their way to be rude to everyone else for no reason. I try to keep it to 65 mph on the Beltway, I-395, and I-66, except in the I-395 express lanes where I try to keep it to 70. I stay out of the left lane if possible and I'll let people merge if they do so properly. I figure that most of the time around here keeping it to those speeds will mean I don't stand out as ticket bait, and there's enough traffic that going much faster than that means weaving in and out of the other traffic, which DOES make you ticket bait. (Plus, with all the roadwork on the Beltway in Virginia I don't think it's particularly safe to go much above 65 most of the time lately anyway—almost every time I go on the Beltway there's been some sort of lane reconfiguration somewhere as part of the construction.)
But if people try to mess with me, I'll often fight back. If I'm coming out of the Ninth Street Tunnel in slow traffic and someone tries to drive down the thru lane that goes to the Southwest Waterfront and then cut over across the striped area, I'll stick close to the car in front of me and I won't let him in. I won't let people cut me off when they try to go straight out of a turn-only lane and I won't let people in if I see that they're using the merge lane as a passing lane (e.g., in the morning when you pass the Pentagon on I-395 when an onramp joins the highway you get people who will cut to the right from the highway into the onramp merge lane, race down the end, then expect people to let them in....or they just try to drive on the shoulder....I straddle the shoulder to block them).
I'll gun it off the line on a green light if I know the next light is one that will likely turn red if I don't move fast, although in some places it's impossible to beat the lights (New York Avenue near the old convention center being the prime example). Going through Old Town Alexandria at rush hour I know that if you obey the speed limit you can't hit all the lights, but if you go about 10 over you'll hit them all on green. So I go 10 over through there. Most of the time I don't bother trying to make fast starts, though. Gas is too expensive to be revving it high for no reason right now.
I used to go pretty much as fast as I wanted, up to about 90 mph, when I was out on the open highway. Back in 2008 on my way to Nova Scotia I decided to try keeping it to 65 to 70 just to see what it was like (primarily because I was not bringing my radar detector) and I wound up being surprised at how much less stressful it was in terms of not giving a damn whether I saw a cop. That's been part of my motivation in slowing down. The other motivation is that Virginia didn't change the reckless driving law when the 70-mph speed limit was enacted last year. That means that if you get pulled over for going 81 mph in a 70-mph zone, the cop can give you a reckless ticket if he wants. For me that's a pretty good reason to keep my speed down. It's just not worth the risk of a ticket, especially nowadays when all the state and local governments are complaining about budget shortfalls. I have no doubt they'd like to make up some of those deficits by writing tickets.
Maybe it's just a sign that I'm getting older.

theres a difference between driving like an asshole, and driving intelligently.
I strive for the latter. I feel like I can have a ton of fun in my car and still respect the space and safety of others. Know your limits and never ever get close to them

I just got the car and don't want to break anything yet so I drive like a limo driver most of the time. Unless I'm annoyed at some drivers on the road and need to get away from them. Plus, I'm driving around some crappy parts of Buffalo a lot of the time and pot holes the size of the grand canyon can form overnight so I like to keep an eye out.

most of the time i drive around 75mph on freeway even if its clear. i dont like to go past the halfway mark on the speedometer(80). however once in awhile, if theres no cars around, i'll open up the throttle all the way. no point in having a the power if you never use it.

I tend to drive aggressively. The drivers that I am more aggressive towards are people that are either doing something stupid (texting/talking on phone/eating) or people that are driving extremely slow or driving slow in the left lane.
On the local roads NY is a mess. I tend to take it "normal" speed wise so I can keep an eye out for hazards. But on the highway I am usually doing 85-90.
In NY if you signal before switching your lane the driver in the other lane 99.99% will not let you in....so you have to quickly go into it. And that means you have to cut them off. I wish the TL had a feature that my BMW does...one tap and the blinker blinks 3 times. Its perfect for NY.
I need to invest in a radar lol.

I used to be a quick driver. Then I saw how much gas I'm sucking down and after one particularly expensive month (with the high gas), I've slowed WAYYYY down and do my best to stretch out my tank..

Cheap insurance is a good thing. Right now I am paying about 25% of what I paid in 2001 on a Honda Prelude.
The area's worst drivers are on 395. It's driven like a 3nd world surface street, not a highway.

i like to think i take it pretty easy on my car ... in the entire 90k i have owned the car i have only redlined it once and that was due to an emergency situation where i had to pick up speed really fast or i would've gotten hit ... other than that i doubt my car ever goes above 3.5 on the tach

Don't think I drive aggressively, but I like to drive fairly fast. I'll accelerate smoothly to a fair amount over the speed limit, and take corners a little quick but that's about it. Don't like to be too judicial with throttle and brake applications.

^Same. In terms of accelerating, I drive like an old lady. And my car is bone stock performance wise. I normally do 5-10 over the speed limit though. I used to beat the hell out of my car. The "VTEC just kicked in yo" happens once a week or so for me now.

I drive like a massive pussy. I granny shift under 4k and have never pushed it past 80 on the highway. Every once in awhile I'll take a turn at a somewhat high rate of speed. I slow roll to stops and usually let the engine rev down on its own.
...but hell, 92k and she's running WONDERFULLY.

You can place me in that category as well. I've been babying the TL ever since I got it. I came from a 4 banger Accord that I drove for nearly 10 years so the habits are stuck with me. Hell, I haven't even attempted the auto-manual shifting yet and it's nearly been a year.
I've been exploring a little on the freeway, can't drive less than 75mph and have hit 100 a few times.
RV6 V3 Jpipe is on the way so maybe times are changing...
