btw, reynaldo, you shouldn't be racing as you should be breaking-in your car.

I thought the G37's had 7Spd autos. Or is that just the Sedan, not coupes. ANd reynolds can't wait to get the G37Sedan. Im gunna turbo that bitch, doing 0-60 in 4sec. Should i turbo or supercharge though?
#56
Last night,me and reynaldo met to check out each others car.Mine used to be his car ,which i modified a little bit to hang-up with newer ones. We, raced from stop light to stop light about twice.Man,this new g37 is a monster thats one fast sedan.Probably a bit faster than is350.Considering his has 120 miles.
Those 7 speed A/T surely helps plus the increase in HP.

If he's got 120 miles on it then it would be even worse situation for him as his car is not broken in. Expect worse acceleration numbers.

When are they coming out? Got a link? I have not yet heard that the Coupes will get the 7 speed auto and if so, when. '09 G37 Sedan 7spd will be out first. The source did not say when the Coupe will be released with the 7spd auto.

All 2009 g37 will get 7A/T weather its a coupe, the Hard top convertable, and of course the sedan that im driving(I am the first one here in socal to get delivery.Due to connections and some$$$$$.)My car is white moonlight white with ebony interior or black in leyman's.INFINITI's here in los angeles are trying to sell 08's @ a very reasonable price.U can get the 08g37 coupe 5 speed A/T for $3000 below invoice price as well as the 08 G35 sedan. Both cars can be retrifitted with the Jatco 7 speed A/T for the$$$.

But come on, just think about it, you think they'd put a 7 speed auto in the sedan and a 5 speed in the "sportier" version? No sir.
G37 coupe is a porker. I hope for 09 they fix the weight issues and coupled along with the 7speed auto it will give the 335 a run for its money.

My friend check out g35driver.com forum and you'll find out that.both the Gsedan and coupe has 7speedA/T.Actually,sooner or later all infinitis will get 7A/T.Even,the EX35 soon to be EX37 will get 7A/T(0-60 5.2 sec.)see infiniti U.K. website. The FX35 has 7speed A/T as well as the FX50.I used to be Honda/Acura freak, since i started driving wayback in 1988.I drive my first Honda civic. Then, when i turned 28 i've purchased an acura ITR,then 2nd gen. TLS,3rd gen Tl-S(wifes car).I purchased an INFINITI G35 sedan in 03 now Toshi aka JDMsedan2003.I became a believer since then.Though,i am still an acura/honda fan. But,hopefully in the future HONDA/ACURA plz. listen . make a 6cylinder engine in a RWD flatform.

I do remember reading it somewhere, I honestly just don't remember where. I'm sure a simple search can shed some light.

BTW,my friend and i,have raced earlier@8pm along sepulveda blvd. near getty center.I smoked him by 3C.L. He cant believe it.He thought, that my car is a G35(G37S emblem has been debadge.Except for the Mt. Fuji symbol and the word INFITI).He has no clue that ININITI came out with the G37 with 7 speed. He checked my engine bay.Hoping that mine has F.I. I told him that,if i have a charger or turbo, his car would spank pretty bad.I mean really BAD.BTW,theres an 08 g37 coupe thats been modified by Sam@GTM in rancho cucamonga,ca. Dynoed @500whp/493lbs. trq.@ a pretty conservative boost.Check out the their website GTM.com
I go wilshire/sepulveda to ventura/sepulveda all the time.

What, can i say HONDA is fuckin CHEAP(i hope they are listening)lol. Without any modification or just leave it stock, the car is FAST.It can hang out with more expensive sport cars like the bimmer.Unless, you're like me(speed freak.no contentment).I want it to be fasterThe new G37 with 7 speed auto made by JATCO is bulletproof .Unlike the manual trannies thats still has issues. For a base price of $31,000 its a BARGAIN.Guys, tell me ,in order for the ACURA TL/TL-S to match g37's performance u need F.I.=$$$$.Friends,family HONDA/ACURA fans.Test drive the new and better G37 and u will not be dissapointed.Peace

[QUOTE=reynaldo;10137958]Probably,political or they(HONDA)are just being cheap.HONDA has been in the sport industries 4 so long.In fact ,the NSX that is being race in the japanese circuit has 7 speed sequential. And 8speed in formula one.

Thanks for the info, reynaldo. I must have missed the info out there lately. The last time I read was when the first '09 G37 7spd Sedan coming out first.. Well, it's very good that Infiniti is releasing 7spd for all trims on the G37 family and some other models. I have to give props to Infiniti for making 7 speed tranny's. It's a shame that Honda is still sticking with the old ancient 5 speed trannys. Now the Acura TL models are 2 gears behind Infiniti for Auto's.. Shame Shame Shame. This is one of the reasons why I "jump-shipped" to a different brand.

That's what *you* *think*. Let's hold the judgement till various review sites get to test out the '09 G37 Sedan as the 0-60 and quarter numbers we see right now are estimated, or theoretical. Also I would like to see how these put down in drag strips, stock of course. We will then have better idea where this car sits at. Until then I cannot say which one is faster as the IS350 is a "low-to-mid 13 sec" car depending on weather condition just like any other cars.
If he's got 120 miles on it then it would be even worse situation for him as his car is not broken in. Expect worse acceleration numbers.

+1 i would much rather see a person with some drag strip experience determine what the numbers are. looks like a close call between the is350, 335i, and the g37 stock of course.
isnt there some sort or generalization that once a car has over X amount of miles it pulls quicker? not sure i just heard that somewhere before. IIRC a guy with a e92 335i with a procede v2 and 60 miles on the odo ran it at the track at got a 13.6 @ 1??.?? and then ran it after 5000 miles and pulled 12.8 @ 1??.?? i could be wrong though.

That's a good question.. I can vouch that from what I have seen the Lexus IS350/IS-F cars seemed to make quite of improvement in the accelerations (0-60 and quarter miles) after putting several thousand miles on them. Some of them benefited even more after 10,000 miles or so. I think the 5000 miles on the BMW gaining such performance is very reasonable.

Why you wanna race a type-s w/ your 09 g37? Wouldn't it be comparable w/ the 335i or is350? As for all others that want to race (don't know if this is a good thing), you'd have to wait until I get some new tires; currently my front tires are completely bald. I've been trying to buy some lightweight rims and getting the pre-cats. After that, I will welcome ppl I know I have a good shot against.

Hey there nova_G. Yea I don't come here too often do I.. Oh man I'm loving my IS350. It rides so well and so luxury. My leather seats and door panels feel like soft baby skin to the touch. It currently has 2800 miles on it and I'm still kind of babying it as it's still very new.

Oh yea later on I'm gonna get me a nice set of super-light 18" Volk RE30 wheels, with a tiny bit increase in offset for the rear.. That'll look real good. I don't have a plan for performance mod or slamming the car down just yet.. I try to keep my car original by not doing extensive mods..

Now it would be interesting to see how the new G37 7AT goes against a 3G TL-S 6MT and/or 4G TL SH-AWD 6MT on a track. The G got spanked pretty badly in both occasions, let's see if the extra speed gonna help!

^lol like I said they don't have the resources like other companies do.
When it comes to performance I believe the NSX-R is still the only JDM sports car with 280hp and over 1200kg to hit the 1/4 mile in 12.5s and laps the Ring in 7:56s.
I guess what you mean is that, Honda doesn't listen to US enthusiasts by not important the Type R models here...that..I agree..Honda should listen to us and bring those cars here! All we have are lame "tier 2" Type S or Si models....
