Do you ever worry that you bought the wrong color car?

I dont regret getting NBP. Even though it does get dirty pretty quick and shows everything, but once its tinted and has some nice rims on it, that makes the car look sick. I was debating between WDP and NBP but my saleswoman told me about the rear bumper situation with WDP so that made me go with NBP.

That's interesting....
Mine is pretty filthy right now due to colder weather and salt on the roads; it needs a bath desparately. So, I'm not sure if I could tell a difference or not; I'll have to wait until it gets above freezing to clean it up.
On my 04 Accord my b/f swore that the hood's silver paint didn't match...
Is this common?

I know I bought the right color....I love my Redondo Red! Of course, being 52 and in the middle of my societal-mandated mid-life crisis, I believe there's a universal law that actually required me to purchase a red car.
However, a very close second preference to RRP was the WDP....I think really enhances the lines and details of the car. I do believe you made a great choice.

I wanted WDP with ebony so bad but had to settle for the next best...WDP with quartz since 2005 didnt have the white/black combo yet.
I agree with leedog...theres just too many anthracite/silver TL's. WDP stands out and is the best color IMO

Nope...WDP's the best...it shows the lines the best; it's not a dime-a-dozen color here like NBP/SSM/AM; it's not a plain white, it's a pearl...
But for those that got something else, I could see how you could worry about having gotten the wrong color...it's ok, we won't hold it against you...

I have an 06 NBP w/ Ebony AT w/ Navi. I sometimes do think about ASM, looks nice, a lot less upkeep etc. So, I'm unsure if it was the right decision... However, I find myself REALLY second guessing my transmission selection. My past 4 card were manual, and I truly thought I was 'over' it ( I drive a lot in traffic ) but to be honest, I'm kinda bored - I feel like I should be shifting. I must admit, it is nice in traffic, but I'm not as connected and/or excited about the driving experience anymore. Am I insane to be considering rebuying the same car just in MT? I purchased this on (11/30/06)

Just got my 06 WDP 5AT w/ Navi this week. Decided on white at the last minute over black. Love it. I have not been able to detect a difference in body vs. bumper color (either in garage or in natural sunlight) as some have mentioned.
BTW, first posted message.

haha.. yhea, 11/30/06.... nice. Meanwhile, I was reading your post and I was like huh? What's the matter w/ 11/30/06? Too funny. LONG day. Anyway, thanks for the reply, I need to hear exactly what you said to make me feel better about getting the AT. I too wish I could have two cars.. OR even better, they could truly come out w/ a dual transmission. I know they give you the 'tiptronic', it's cute and all, but not the same. Oh well, I digress.

Safety Car
sometimes I wish I would have gotten SSM and sometimes even WDP. But I am overall very happy with my choice AM. NBP looked the best out of them all IMO, but I hate the way black shows scratches and swirls so easily and way too much upkeep. As soon as I washed it it was dirty again.
My Mustang GT was black on black, and all it took was one car wash and all it took was one car wash from this hand wash place (my dumb fault) to swirl it up pretty good. Even after I had it buffed, it still never looked the same.

Love my TL
When I was looking at the TL in 2004, I was getting the SSM. Then I saw the ABP--the Blue and the "metallic" shimmering effect dazzled me. I love everything about the car-styling, performance, price, handling, etc.
My wife who usally looks at a car-- a machine that gets you from my place to another. Also, fell in love with the car, styling, luxury and the color.
later,
Josie

RBP. Love at first sight. Never wanted anything else.
I even had to wait 2+ months to get my RBP/6MT/Navi.
That being said, I don't think there *is* a color offered that would make the TL look bad. If RBP had not been available at all, I would have been perfectly happy with Anthracite or Black.
In any event, the only person's opinion that matters about your car is yours. Color preference is so subjective that there are probably even a few people out there who would like a brown TL with orange interior. Resale might suffer a bit, though...

I really do miss driving a manual ...there's just "something" about it. I had to give up my Accord because of a foot injury, which happens to be my clutch-foot. And where I live, the traffic at anytime on any given day is pretty brutal. I was continuously on and off the clutch in heels in bumper to bumper traffic and my foot would spasm causing me to want to scream. So I had to contemplate long and hard for about 2 months while going back and forth with the Acura dealer before I gave up on the MT. A guy who worked at the dealership actually took a pic for me of my car on the lot...I even got teary-eyed when I saw it on the lot after a week in the TL; but, I'm sure it went quickly and painlessly. That was my baby and as much as I love the TL, I just don't get that fuzzy warm feeling that I had in the Accord. The upside is that the TL is a much better ride and has more features, so it compensates for my MT loss.
Good luck with that and don't let it get you too down... try using the SportShifter. I use it a lot to downshift.......

I really enjoy driving my TL, it's an auto though. I had to make a choice after injuring my hip. Didn't know whether I would be able to drive standard after surgery. I am sure the driving experience would be multiplied by 6MT. Always drove manuals, oh well, life is full of compromises.

Nope...Never regret having Redondo Red Pearl. I still don't see alot of them on the road, and the ones that I do see have parchment or camel interiors. RRP is a pain to keep clean, but it looks great after I wash it.

I really wanted a WDP with ebony interior w/NAV when i went to get my TL. Unfortunately that combo is hard to find in NYC. So i settled for a silver one with ebony interior w/nav. I still reget not getting the white one but the closer i looked at the white one i didnt like the color difference in the bumpers so i dont regret it that much anymore

The color I wanted wasn't available - San Marino Red with a Parchment interior. Just like the Cl Type-S I traded in.
That was the most beautiful car I ever owned. I've never had a car draw so many complements. The shade of red leaned more to the blue side of the spectrum, as opposed to orange. Extremely classy color.
The cops liked it too. I was pulled over three times in five years, and each time received a smart-ass comment about my "red car".

well, if i ever get a 3rd gen TL, it'll be WDP... the TL is a bulky car (like maxima, ~accord) and white is IMO the best color for bulky cars.. and black/silver is a good color for slimmer cars, like the 2nd gen TL and previous gen maxima..

i was thinking about the TL being bulky today...there is a lot of car there but i think pretty much any color slims it down, or rather one color does not make the car look 'fatter' than another. probably just the way i was looking at my car but parked next to a white one i didnt notice any visual difference

I really wanted Graphite when I got my Accord in 2002, but my only option (that did not involve paying sticker) for a manual EX-L was Silver... I did really like it, but I was kind of unhappy that I didn't get the color I really wanted. When I decided to get the TL, Anthracite was the only way to go!
That said, there are times when I think I would also like the Desert Mist Metallic, but I think keeping the interior clean wouldbe difficult.
