Do I need fuel stabilizer?

Currently I'm going through quarter tank a week.. and fill up when it's at about 1/4.
Sometimes I go 6 weeks with 1 tank of gas..

Should I be worried about gas going bad?
If so, what's a good fuel additive that will help resolve the issue?

6 weeks, no need for stabilizer/additive.

Gas lasts a lot longer than people think. Your good to go with no stabil.

Nope u don't need it AS LONG as you're using the right octane. When i bought my car i filled the tank with 93 octane and used a bottle of marvel mystery oil on the tank because you never know what kind of cheap gas the previous owner could have been using.

I didn't put gas in the TL in 4 months. 6 weeks isn't an issue.

I was worried because I hear this faint fuel pump whine.

I guess I love my car too much. *searches for late model Legacy GT for sale*

Not even close. I've let the car sit for over a year on a tank of gas and no issues. I didn't go under boost until I had a fresh tank but it worked fine after a year. One thing I did since I knew it was going to be sitting for a long time is top off the tank to get rid of as much air as possible. The more air in the tank the quicker it will go bad. I typically go a month between fillups and bad fuel isn't even a consideration. If it worries you, you can fill up more often but you'll never have a problem after 6 weeks.

Ahhhh i took insurance off the Type-S and has less than a quarter tank left. Its gonna sit until at least feburary

I thought it was the opposite, keep as little fuel as possible to add new fresh fuel when its out of storage.
