anthracite, is yours going to be like Rodney's? how it illuminates the middle circle area or is yours going to shine down or...?

Mine will shine down the ground. Like my wife's e90.
I tested led itself on my body panel and it didn't shine like her car. So i tested it on her car body panel and it shines like pic above(illuminate on actual body panel) since hers is white color. It's not that noticible on black color car. It doesn't matter i have plan to repaint my TL later.
I'll test it again take some pics and upload them.

I was just joking about that anyway. But to be honest no I don't recall following anybodies DIY when I did that install and I tinkered around on my own to find a reliable power source on the door panel for the LEDs. Those LEDs looked do nice I may end up doing them again on my current Type S.

I just saw your led thread. Man it looks awesome!!!
You should do same thing on your current type-s!
Do you guys can see pics on 1st page? Or is it just me? All my pics are gone... I don't know what happened... I still see pics on my flckr account... Any idea guys?

Three Wheelin'
This DIY is turning! Last time I checked (and this was a while back), a few DIY threads on the 3G garage page all had instructions but no pictures. It's probably because the OPs for those threads deleted their images on their photobucket or whichever photo hosting site they use or the image links expired. (This is at most a 9 year old car after all) So when there are instructions like "You want to drill a hole where I marked a green circle", I have absolutely no idea where. :|
anthracite, I never had any issues uploading stuff via imgur. maybe you can reupload the pictures there?

Here we go again!
Here's a pic of parts. The last 3 digit 313 is left(driver# side and 314 is right#passenger# side.
so here it goes on left front door.
There are 4 philips screws to remove door panel.
Remove this cover and remove 2 screws.
Remove another one on edge. Mine was stripped. so i had to grab it from behind with needle nose plier to unscrew.

Remove last screw.
I also removed door light too. I don't think this is necessary.
I think there are about 10 clips you have to pop out to seperate panel from door. sorry i didn't count. You can use your hand or tool. I used tool. I started from bottom edge to top. Once you pop those all out, just lift panel up. Now it's seperate from door, but you still have to disconnect cable and switches.
While you are holding door panel, disconnect cable and unplug all switches to remove door panel completely.
Rotate black knob toward door and lift end of cable up and pull green part out.
Unplug switches. There are prongs that you have to press in#use pocket screw driver or some kind of pick# and pull on harness at the same time. It should come out easy.
This is what it look like without door panel.
Now remove white plastic cover. Use razor blade to remove it. Gently pull plastic cover from top edge while you cut adhesive with razor blade. work your way to the end.
After you remove white cover.
Next is remove door handle cover. There's 8mm bolt that you have to unscrew on back of the door lock cover#right next to the lock cylinder).
Now you can remove door handle cover. Slide cover to the right and it just comes out.
Here's pic of driver's front and rear difference.
Looks like it needs quite a bit of dremel work..
That's all for now. I won't be able to continue progress till this weekend .
Hopelly next week.

Yea I have seen LEDs reflect off white and black cars, it's nowhere near the same. That's why sometimes people don't notice the door handle lights unless it's kinda dark outside. On a white car, it's noticeable as soon as it gets slightly dark. Nothing you can do about it, can't really beat physics lol. That's why I ended up putting a CREE led under my side mirror lol it's very noticeable right away. Anyways, good luck on the progress, seems like you know what you are doing pretty well, I am a bit curious to see how you will wire it up seeing as how you removed the cap bracket too, I did it a bit differently.

Yep, and I bought them from him over two years ago to study how he did it so I could do mine.
