DIY: My Clearing of Tails Voyage

I was actually debating re-doing these ones this summer. I have Di-noc in mind for the bezel and putting my red reflectors in.
Don't know if the Di-noc will look too tacky. It will prolly be a pain in the ass to get perfect too. I can see how it looks once they're opened up tho.

Keep us posted, man...I don't have a lot of dinoc experience, although I recently did apply it to my type s diffuser for headlights and found it pretty easy to work with.
I think it would probably look pretty good actually!
I was thinking...what about buying a box of that 3M butyl rubber seal that we use to heat up and seal the headlights...make a single bead that you could LAY on the bottom portion of the cut, then lay the top one on and bake your tail light and press together. I BET this would hold.
Thoughts?

Hopefully the tail light has the same plastics as the headlight... otherwise something could melt.
The bezel is what I'm most worried about if you bake it. It's very thin and flimsy.

I'm going to bump this up.
For those that have modified their tails, do ya'll have any problems with condensation? What's the best way to clsoe them up to ensure no condensation? I've heard of using butyl tape but wouldn't know where to buy it at.
I really want to mod my tail lights but the thought of condensation is stopping me. I'd rather have stock tails with no condensation so they look great all the time than to have modded tails that only look good when there isn't any condensation in them.

Hadn't seen this thread in quite some time...
I ended up manning up and doing it. Oem Type S's with NBP bezel, carbon fiber on the reflector and smoked diffuser removed. I used leftover butyl tape I got from Napa to do them...been on a few months and through rain and I have zero condensation issues.

I was going to do my like yours Rockstar but just leave the reflector red. I haven't seen any tails that I was a fan of until yours because yours still look like a stock set of Type S tail lights for the most part. Hopefully I can grow a pair and see how these will look on a WDP.
And also, when I was modding my headlights, I vaguely remember hearing people say they used some kind of Nissan sealant or something like that, is the butyl tape pretty much the same thing?

The Butyl tape is EXACTLY the same thing. It's like a ribbon of black silly putty (if that makes sense)....you just roll it out between your fingers to the thickness you want and press into place. BAM...no baking or anything necessary. I had one day where one of the lights had a slight condensation in it...and within 10 minutes it was gone and never returned.
Thanks btw...I honestly agree...most of the modded ligths I've seen either eliminate contrast or eliminate the red, which Didn't like. I loved the red...just wanted it to be the top 2 portions...but a WDP bezel and all other parts red would look fkn splendid, man. Seriously!

...I don't know that my ribbing was based on him posting pictures everywhere. It was more geared toward never thanking anyone for praise he got and demanding everyone recognize his genius...
I see what team you're on, Tyler. No problem. Duly noted.
