DIY: Front Bumper Tow License Plate Bracket

I wanted to try to make my own license plate and if it didn't look good, I would just go buy one on Amazon for $30.
Overall, everything just called me below $15. My first DIY write up so don't hate =D I also only had less than 30 minutes to cut everything and put it all together before driving on a road trip so the set up isn't perfect but it will do. I'll fix it later this week and post more pictures later

Parts:

M12x40 (You can go M12x30 and it will be flushed tight with one washer)

You will need one 12MM metric hex nut if you use M12x40

Then you will need an 8inx12in sheet of metal which will need to be trimmed slightly to fit your license plate.

Next, you will need one of these strap tie and drill a 12mm hole in the center for your bolt. This piece will need to be belt into a door handle shape so you can put your M12x40 bolt through. Also, notice the 3 tiny holes on both the right side and left side. Those will be the place you secure the handle to the sheet metal. You can use 4MMx12MM bolts with 4MM hex nuts.

6MMx16MM will be the size of the screw you used to secure your state license plate to the sheet metal.

=============How to put everything together=========
1) Bend the strap tie into a door handle shape

2)
Trace your license plate on the sheet metal and then cut out the shape that you want.

3)
Mark on the sheet of metal where the holes will all go. Use a nail to punch out the small holes for the handle and then use a drill and drill out the corner holes for your license plate.

4)
Test fit everything. This is how everything should look. You might want to put the M12x40 or M12x30 bolt in the center first before tightening the six bolts for the handle.

5)
Take everything apart and test fit the handle on your OEM tow hook extender thingy. Make any adjustment on how you want your plate to look and the angle. I believe a 19mm socket will tighten your tow hook into the bumper thingy.

6)
Attach the sheet metal and secure all the 6 bolts with a philips screwdriver.

7)Now attach your plates to finish everything off =D

I didn't tighten everything and did this all in 15 minutes before heading out on a road trip. So I just took quick pictures and such :p
I got black spray paint and will paint everything later to make sure nothing rusts. I'll post pictures after putting this set up back on after registering my car in California.
