Ding/dent on my trunk

My friends and I were chit-chatting & joking around in front of my house then another friend was running from the other car and lost his balance. He was holding a drink and he slammed it on my trunk to regain balance. It made a dink, quite noticeable too. Any easy way to remove it?

Paintless dent removal works like a charm!! My 04TL was hit by flying trashcan (grrrr) - I paid $125 for someone to come to my office in San Jose and fix the dent in less than 1/2 hour. The dent was TOTALLY gone - everyone was amazed at the quality of the repair.

The dent removal guy warned me about the repair kits offered on the TV - these kits pull the dent out versus pushing the dent out from the inside as they do. He told me that a lot of people have made their dents worse by trying it themselves. Then again, he may just be saying that to help his business. In any case, paying the $125 was worth it for me . . . .

regarding the PDR, i heard that if there's a backbone (something like middle of the trunk) it's not going to be easy to do it... I will give it a try...

DO NOT TRY PDR on yoru own! Only skilled pros who have a LOT of training can do it. Like me for instance But the ones on TV DO NOT WORK! first of all, you know the susction cups you use to stick the remover to the car? Well you HOTGLUE those suctioncups to the car. If you dont, when you twist the knob, the suction cups will pop off. So ok, you hot glue the cups to the car, tsist the handel and the dent pops off. How do u get the GLUED tool off the door? OOO you ahve a way? ok take it off, and watch as your new paint comes off too. Short story. Have a pro do it

Thx Tacoma... I wouldn't even risk it... Though some people say "it's only a ding, it's not that bad...", it bothers me a lot... especially with a car < 1 month...

I don't think I would have my friend pay for repair... it's these accidental thing that can happen anytime, just happened that it's my friend... I take it as if it happens in the mall and I don't even know who did it...

but I would my friend the next time we go airsofting with my 410fps M15A4

the smaller the dink, the harder it is for them to work around. dentpro is who we (enterprise rent a car) use in the bay area and they do a good job. but i've never seen them work on the trunk. i usually see them working on doors, fenders, qtr panel bumpers, and such. i know they don't do hoods. i think their website is www.dentpro.com

Dentless removal can remove dents easily, but if it's a ding then it'll be hard to remove.

And the difference being..?

Dent = Large ding...
Ding = Small dent....

Either way I have had PDR performed on a few of my vehicles. I couldn't even tell where the dent/ding had been when complete. The gentleman that worked on my cars was great. Appeared to be more of an art than science...
