Detail shops in So. Cal

Anyone know of a good detail shop in So. Cal? I have neither the time nor patience to Zaino the heck out of my NBP, but want to make sure it is clean and protected WITHOUT SWIRLS. Anyone know of a place that can do that?

Thanks in advance,
Rick

I'm trying to look for the same thing. Every I look they are all expensive, but I'm still keeping an eye out for them. If I see a good detailer (Whittier area) I'll let you know.

Buy the Zaino kit and pay someone to do the detailing for you.

There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of a job well done - by someone else.

Actually, I do mine myself (5 coats of Zaino so far) and have enjoyed every minute of it. The only drawback I can see is that you're aware of every single chip and/or flaw. If someone else does it, you're less likely to notice.

Zaino and clear bra

I've been hearing a lot about Zaino and clear bra on this forum. Are they worth getting? I guess I'm more traditional when it comes to car care. Good 'old paste wax. Too bad, I don't have too much time to spend cleaning the car.

About clear bra, what if want to remove them later. Will it leave any residue?

Zaino is awesome. Definitely worth getting. I bought the entire kit. Even the leather cleaner. Zaino makes quality products for detailing. Don't have too much info on Clear Bra but check out the Zaino site...

Dave Williams is the closest installer of the clear bra I know of in Freemont, CA. His number is (510) 490-3870.

dtchung, Yes you can remove the bra later if need be, but I have never heard of anyone doing that. They just like to ask. It might some residue behind that a eneral adhesive cleaner can take care of or polish. It will not harm your paint or fade the color of it in anyway.

There are some threads on clear bras you can see hear to learn more.

Im actually thinking about detailing for some extra cash. However Im not a professional so my prices wont be that high. If people are intrested, I might give it a try. Im located in the Monterey Park/Alhambra area. My current products consist of DACP, No. 9 Swirl Remover, 4Star UPP, Klasse AIO/SG, S100, and a few others done by using a PC.

As I was looking at my hood carefully, I noticed some very small chips already.

Almost all clear bra I have seen advertised seems to cover only the first 1-2 feet of the hood. I am finding these paint chips at different parts of the hood. Are there applications that would cover a larger area of the hood?

If you haven't guessed already, this is the California way. Just like the way we hire gardners, exterminators, pool guy and now car guy?

I for one have the first three, but probably won't go with the latter as the car is my pride and joy. Come to think of it, I think I said the samething about my house some time ago.

Seriously, the guys at the car wash place probably will do a good of job as anyone else - meaning they won't get to the details only you can be satisfied with. For example, has any of you took your car to a car wash place and end up washing it again the same day because of incomplete job they do? That's because those guys aren't proud of your car like you are.

these kits are designed to provide maximum coverage to the frontal impact area of your car where the vast majority of chips, scratches, and "sand blasting" occur, while still remaing affordable and visually unobtrusive as possible. Yes, chips and scratches can always happen on other areas and you can pay more to cover more of your car, but you will soon come to a point of dinminishing returns as far as protection versus costs are concerned

If anyone has any other questions about paint protection film feel free to drop us a line!

Couple of questions around these clear guards.

1. Once installed, does it just become permanent part of your car? Doesn't seem like an easy install / removal from numerous pieces and having professionals install it.

2. Will it withstad high temperature? I live in desert climate where day time ambient temperature can get into triple digits. The temperature on metal surface must exceed that number easily - enough to fry an egg.

3. Will there be noticeable discoloration between the clearbra area and non- protected area after some time?

4.Will the guard become brittle from seasonal use (extreme heat to cold) and eventually flap in the wind?

5. Is there a warranty and what will that cover for how long?

Just few questions. I don't know how long these guards have been around so that is why I'm asking some of these questions. If it works, sounds like better alternative to regular bra (no rub mark and no trapped dirt that sandpapers the paint). Thanks.
