Just to put this into perspective, last year when I was shopping for my car I found a 2006 TL NAV 6MT with 20,300 miles on the clock for $14,000; the guy got asking price for the car.

Sounds like it might be a good find. Good luck!!

I mean it's up to you. you can pay some money now which would essentially be a down payment on a new car, to avoid monthly payments. I bought an 04 TL about a year ago with similar mileage and restored it. Paint correction, tires, sound system, headliner, center console padding, headliner, floormats, engine mounts, LCAs, timing belt/water pump. I am very happy with the car now. really all I am looking to do next is front struts and darker tint. I am enjoying not having car payments.
Hey just wondering what kind of sound system you put in your TL? I was also thinking about restoring my 04 TL I can't see myself driving anything else.

I have a Pioneer AVH-X490BS, some Polk speakers, Cheap bazooka tube for a little more bass (I don't listen to bass-heavy music, mostly rock). I took out the stock amp since that is what was giving me trouble in the first place, and installed a Pioneer GM-D9605 to power the speakers and woofer. Also I threw on a backup camera, which is pretty cool.
