Decided to go with 6000K bulbs

Can anyone recommend a good brand for 6000K HID D2S bulbs? And somewhere to purchase them?

I'm done with the stock yellow hue.

Thanks,
Jason

Hmm. Do I believe the headlight guru or a med student? Thats a tough one!

I'll wait for some more suggestions to filter in and make my decision at the end of the day.

Thanks

To each their own, I have a brand new set of Phillips 85122WX here with me for testing only but I would never use it in my headlights. IMO 85122+ FTMFW, if you are going to go the high kelvin route then might as well get cheap 6000k rather than shelling $150+ for authentic Ultinons. I suggested the ultinons due to the fact that its Phillips, no knock on kaixen products but I just dont have any experience with them.

my lights arent yellow or have a yellow hue to them....everytime i see a tl or tsx comming the other way or behind me at night, they look blueish just like every other xeon equiped car...looks good enough without looking like a wannabee ricer...i hate when i see a car with over the top blue lights or a car that never came with hid possing as an hid car....

I'm still waiting on the verdict on those $40 HID bulbs in the other thread before i decide. Excelerate does have a sale on Kaixen bulbs for $109.

^^^ I passed a H2 a few nights ago with exactly that setup going. They were like 12000k bulbs too. It was about as good looking as bag of smashed assholes plus it blinded the ever living shit out anyone in a 1/2 mile radius. And here I thought an H2 was already as lame as it could get.

LOL Someone's a little peeved. Some people find it hard to comprehend that you can't just stick an HID bulb in a reflector that originally came with halogens. The longer HID bulbs completely mess up the beam pattern and in the process blind every oncoming driver. The H2 driver probably has a small shoe size that's why he bought an H2... and apparently on top of that his lights have to be bluer than everyone else's also.

yea but the H2 doesnt have the right lights in there.... longer, shorter makes no difference... its the wrong bulb. in a reflector setup you have to adapt a d2r bulb because it uses a shield to point the light in the right fashion, the bulbs we get are all aftermarket d2s rebased bulbs to work in any setup....if not rebased....its just made like that.....which is incorrect because theres a massive glare for oncoming traffic. it looks great if ur in the car looking out but to others you're an asshole. lol

First of all, 6000K isn't blue...
https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/kaixen-hid-kit-groupbuy-330409/

Second of all, I don't think getting a slightly whiter light output makes me (or others) a ricer. Its like saying people with yellow fogs are wannabe-Lexus owners. People have different taste and for me, I feel like the stock bulbs are a little yellow and would prefer whiter ones. Just my

Anyway, what is the life of the Kaixens? Ultinons? I don't want to shell out $100+ for a year's worth of light.

Heres a picture from Excelerate's GB

I just installed the xtec d2s 6000K HID bulbs I bought for 40 dollars from that other thread you mentioned. IT IS AWESOME FOR THE PRICE. Not too blue/purple but a nice whitish blue/purple hue. It is alot similar to the kaixen 6000k picture above.

Philips are ok, I have a box laying around in my house, they are nice color but not bright enough for me...

I seem to always go with Xetronic D2C, best lumen output and the color is hot, but they cost just as much as Philips... I went thru all brands for hid bulbs, I had an obsession a few years back, lol.

What color you have on those Xetronic? Do they last? And where is the best place to get them. Thanks!

I am not sure about the other guy but I have the 8000k Bulbs. I've had mine on for about a month now and haven't had one problem or issue with them at all. I got mine from : http://www.xtralights.com/index.asp?...ATS&Category=5

6000K.. provides a nice sexy bluewish white, and the spread of the beam is good.

On the Belt, all 3 lanes light up nicely.. if you live in BK area you can see them in person...

really? im kind of disappointed by my 6000k kaixens they dont seem to have much output. i thought it would be a lot better, but it seems that my stocks were significantly better (output wise)

That's exactly why I don't like Kaixens...... But stock at 4300K does produce more lumens than any 6000K..
Compared to Xetronics and Philips, Kaixen was a disappointment to me, even though it is widely supported here because of the price... You get what you paid for...

yeah i know its less lumens, but i was still expecting something better. how much better are the Xetronics and Philips in terms of output compared to the Kaixen?

Damn, I just bought the Kaixen 6000K, I am planning on instaling them this weekend.

I have the zkw lense conversion, maybe that will make a difference. I'll take pic and will post this weekend...

No experience with kaixen but I have tried other aftermarket brands for testing only, I wouldnt use anything but Phillips 85122+ bulbs in my personal headlights. I had ultinons in my lexus for a week before I pulled them out and went back to 85122+ bulbs .

With ZKW you'll see a strict cut off line, which is gorgeous...

Maybe it was me, but Kaixens were in my car for 2 weeks, and I drive 50 miles a day with most of it on dark highways..and I was frustrated everyday...the purple nasty hue on the road signs, the blurr...they looked good in the headlights.. In the rain, I felt like my headlights were off...so I just took them out, and barried them in a closet.. Took out my Philips, installed them, great everything, but it wasn't giving me that blueish ice white I wanted... Bought the Xetronic (which I ran in every car I ever owned), and I was in love again.. I outshine most hid cars on the road, and my headlights are aimed towards the ground, so I hit the trunk of the car in front me and I don't blind anyone... and I love it.

^^ Thats the thing with higher kelvin bulbs, poor visibility in adverse weather conditions.

I drive 45 miles at night and good lighting is a must for me, I seriously suggest you trying the 85122+ bulbs, you will forget everything else. BTW the stock Osram bulbs are very poor especially after they color shift.

Btw this the ACTUAL color of 85122+ bulbs, my camera doesnt pick up color that well at night so these pictures are borrowed from a fellow moderator at HIDplanet (haknslash). Projectors are LS430 installed in a toyota highlander.
