Debating on putting A-spec emblem, suggestions? /:

Hey guys I have bought an A-spec emblem for my Acura TL and was planning on putting it on after I get my car repainted! I've heard some stories of people stealing these emblems since they are rare. Some people have said that the thieves who took their emblems had chipped their paint while they were trying to take it off and I'm afraid of that happening to me. I would love to put the badge on my car but don't know if I should /: Are there any mods that I can possibly do that might help prevent theft if I put it on? Please give me some suggestions if you have any!

IMHO if your inclined to put it on- just use the 3M tape that comes with it. If thieves are gonna take it, you want them to cause the least amount of damage possible.

I am not much of a fan of emblems that technically shouldn't be there, but that is just my personal preference, but if you are going to put it on, please place it where it's supposed to go (same location it came from the dealer on the A-Spec models) instead of another spot, just my

This

The harder you make it to remove, the more damage that 'could' be done if a thief were to go for it.

Use something magnetic and take it off when you park?

This is the same reason I've second guessed getting a roof spoiler. My buddy has a 2G and his has been stolen twice in Chicago. Damned thieves.

Keeping it inside isn't a bad idea either. One of my friends put the ///M badge on the passenger side dash just underneath the airbag. I thought it looked tacky at first but it's kind of grown on me. Although it's an E36 so the dash is boxy unlike ours: I can't imagine a good place to put it. It's all about your personal flavor bro.

P.S. If you read the A-Spec suspension install instructions from Acura, there are several steps in the procedure of how to properly position the badge. To me, that means that if you have that suspension, you're not faking anything by putting on that badge.

Sell it to a sucker for $500 and keep your trunk lid looking smooth and clean.

As another person who frequents Orange County and LA County, I would be a little nervous of putting the A-Spec badge on the car. But how I see it, only someone who knows about the A-Spec badge along with the fact that it's now discontinued would consider stealing one off another person's car.

Hire a security guard to stand by your car whenever you leave it outside in a dodgy area of the city.

You took the time to track the badge down and prob spent some big $ money on it, you should put it on the car and enjoy it. At a later point if you decide to sell you could prob make your money back.
