Debadged or not

I debadged my 06 WDP TL and I am kind of having second thoughts. I kinda like the clean look, but I kinda liked it with the badges on too. What did you most of you do or what way do you like it?

debaged is better......it makes the car more unique,I'd hate to have to buy OEM badges to reapply.....leave it the way it is now. Good Luck

I like it badged....to me the debadge look kinda devalues the vehicle looks kinda ghetto.

Kinda like a general without the stars

debagged looks good, but i see it as you spent the extra money to get the acura why take it off and make people wonder if it is a honda or an acura?

It still has the Acura symbol on the back. The only thing that I took off was the text that said acura and tl.

I agree, but your comment reminded me of soemthing I saw last week on the commute home - a '06 MDX with the rear Acura symbol installed upside down!

Sadly, the women driving will probably never notice.

I am laughing hilariously at this thread. "debadging" makes the car look better ???? LOL How ?? Does it change the lines of the car ? No Does it change the shape of the car ? No

To me the name "Acura" is a pretty cool name....much like "Lexus" and "Infiniti". I want it on my car.

I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but this mod is as ridiculous as it gets.

if you take them off with dental floss you wont ruin the letters. if you decide you want them back on, put a strip of masking tape across the trunk to assure to go back on evenly. use emblem glue from the auto parts store, it works great. i used it on a car and the letters never moved in the 5 years i owned the car.

Leave badges, at least for silver...

The badges give some visual points of reference and slim down the look of the car. My TL is SSM (silver) and debadging would make the tail end appear bulkier.

I removed the badges so I don't have to deal with wax in all the little corners of them. It's a cleaner look, and the Acura symbols all over keep the identity of the car.

A majority of TL owners think it gives it a cleaner look. The badges otherwise clutter up the trunk. It doesnt change the physical lines of the car but makes it softer on the eyes.

You've nailed it again! I think that debadged makes the car look better and only ignorant people would confuse an "A" with an "H".

Maybe some people need to get glasses.

I don't remember seeing badges plastered over the latest Bentley's or Rolls. Yes-this topic is in the eye of the beholder. I think that the darker cars look better without the badges. And anyone who knows finer automobiles (Acura!) knows the difference between Honda and Acura.

When I get my new set of rubber I have decided to "debadge" the tires by filing the name "Toyo" off the sidewalls.

Anyone else with me ?

Plastered all over ??? lol You might think the name "Acura" was pinned on each side of the car. I'm not trying to piss anyone off....I just don't get it....

I'm not trying to either. IMO finer automobiles don't need badges to be identified. I would rather have someone ask me what kind of car it is.

You can say whatever you want, just a lot of people think you are crazy. You might be the only one who likes keeping the OEM badges on...more power to you. The consensus is it gives the car a much cleaner look...having ACURA on one side of the trunk and TL on the other seems to break up the character of the car.

I'm now beginning to think you have lost it and no longer understand what you are talking about. You've also made some questionable posts regarding the life of the brembo brakes.

You guys make the call. Heres mine with and without. It is starting to grow on me more and more without it. Just looks clean. I have asked all my friends and family and they think it looks more clean as well. I haven't seen one in town debadged so I guess if anything else I am being different. Not like I couldn't go to the acura dealer and get new badges if I wanted to.

I think you all should get a bumper sticker that says "I De-Badged My Vehicle"....lol.

I don't think anyone appreciates a dry sense of humor here...

You have a sense of humor? I laugh at all the "lol" you put in your posts, but thats laughing at you and not at any humor you seem to believe is being conveyed.

We dont need a bumper sticker...its fairly obvious if they are looking at the car from the rear.

I put "lol" there to convey to people I am joking.....if you don't see it there then I am being serious....here's an example....

If you are too dense to figure that out, that's your problem not mine (please note the lack of "lol" at the end of this sentence)

subinf.....I'm not trying to bust your balls but you apparently think I am. I just think this whole ripping off the badges stuff is ridiculous. That doesn't mean I think you are all rotten people or idiots....it only means that I think it's ridiculous. That's just my opinion. If you guys think it makes people drool over your car then rip off the badges until you are blue in the face. If it makes you happy, that's all that matters.
