Question Dealers in NYC area

Has anyone had any particularly good or bad experiences with Acura dealers in the NYC area (including NJ and Connecticut)? Recommendations?

Am I better off dealing w/ the internet sales manager?

I had a bad experience with Turnersville - quoted me a price and when i got there they said i would have to pay a different price because the car was not on the lot. Then they were going to charge me for extras and things. Basically they got me into the dealership witha low price estimate and then jacked it up as soon as i got in. I got mine at sussman acura in NJ. Ask for Eric

I have had good experience with Curry Acura, but I think the finance manager that i was assigned to was a stout man who wasn't as good to me. But with some arguments we were able to settle the cost. I think the dealers at Curry Acura is pretty good. My dealer was Lee Diack, who was nice enought to give me the car at 30,500 without nav/ NBP/ ebony / 6 speed
They didn't have this particular car with them but was able to get it within 3 days from a dealer in NJ

Don't go near Paragon Acura in Queens. :chainsaw:

I bought from Rallye in Roslyn and they were good (dealt w/internet mgr., Rose). You can get an e-mail quote from them.

I've also heard Valley Stream is good. They will also e-mail a quote to you.

I second stay "very" far away from Paragon.

Go to Westchester Acura in Larchmont - Robert is the guy to see, or Larry. THey will treat you right. a class operation

ParkAve in Maywood (NJ) and Open Road in Wayne (NJ) are pretty decent. I would not deal with any NYC dealer.

I have a good car buying (and service) experience from Acura of Manhattan. But buy the car from them and go somewhere else for accessories (like 3M bra or Lo-jack). They did a great job, but extremely overpriced...

3rd vote to stay away from Paragon.

They told me they would pay for the last payments on my lease and get me in a new TL....signed the papers....Surprise!!! Manager called a couple days later saying they couldn't honor the deal and it would take at least 4 weeks longer than they promised to get me the car......C-Ya!

Bob Gio at Island Acura in Wantaugh has been very helpful and honest.

Turnersville quoted us all 30,300. Von shot me a note and said the DID absolutely have models on the lot for that price....If you want his email shoot me a PM and I can send it to you. Not sure what they have. It was a bit far for me and because it was so much lower than other dealers (and based on my experience in the business) I was afraid of the bait-and-switch too. Sounds like someone here made the trip and had that experience.

Smile NYC Acura dealers

I recently purchased 04 TL Navi from Open Road Acura of Wayne, NJ. This was my third purchase from this dealer. They are very knowledgable and the service manager is great. The entire dealership was completely overhauled last year and is very modern now. Tons of cars in stock (and they are all secured in a fenced in area).

To add to what has already been mentioned, STAY AWAY from Acura of Brooklyn, they seriously will not give you the time of day and if you don't like their price they won't even attempt to lower the price at all, complete jerks over there, they really do think they're god there on Nostrand Avenue! As for their service department, well lets just say it's 100 time worse than the actual sales department.
I got mine in Open Road Acura in Wayne, NJ and they were great to me, their service department is also really good from what I've heard, but it sucks that I live 45 miles away from Wayne here on Staten Island, which is why I ended up getting service at that crap shoot in Brooklyn. Good luck to you.

Been dealing with Acura of Bedford Hills in Westchester and Heart Acura in Wappinger Falls so far Bedford has come in at $33,150 with free wheel locks and the first & every other maintenance free for a 6spd manual with Nav. I'm hoping to take that to Heart Acura and trim it down to $33,000 flat and clinch the deal. How my doin'?

Acura of Valley Stream

Another vote to STAY AWAY FROM PARAGON.... They define dealer sleaze...

My family has been dealing with Valley Stream Acura... Excellent service departmnet too. In sales, see Steve Verga(Sales Manager).... Tell him Lee sent you... He will take care of you

DO NOT GO TO PARAGON AN PLAZA AUTO MALL!

Sorry about, I'm new to this forum. I always check out what is new but when I saw "How is the dealers in NY" I have to put in my two cent.

You can see I really had bad exerience with Paragon Acura and so does my friends, and I heard so many bad things about Plaza Auto Mall. The guy is correct when he said the service is as bad as the sales person.

Trust me they will try to rip you off any change they get. Even if you said that you have a better price from some where else and they will offer a lower price. At the end they would have bleeded you dry like a vampire.

If you have to stay in the city. Try to check out Acura of Manhattan, when they offer you a price they stay with it. Pay a little more for a better experience and the service department is very nice and helpful. As you can see I purchase my TL from Acura of Manhattan. If you don't have to stay you are better off to compare prices in NJ or upstate NY.

So far Valley Stream and Massapequa have been helpful to me.

Check out my initial price quotes in the MSRP thread.

Yes, Park Ave is good and I also don't go to NYC dealer.

I got $30800, $500 over Invoice on Jan.
No NAVI Auto and the car was in the lot.

Cool

edwards,

Welcome to the forum. We all have the bad experiences with PARAGON AND PLAZA AUTO MALL. Your first post fans the flames into the truth how bad these two bad dealers are.

I also suggest to stay away PARAGON AND PLAZA AUTO MALL. Dozens of dealers in NYC areas are much better than these two.

I have to agree with Roadman - Westchester Acura in Larchmont is a great place. Speak to the manager Ken Hicks. Just bought TL/auto/non-Navi for $30,600 ($300 over invoice). Financing from Chase for a balloon loan for a 42 month deal is at 2.99% now - with no money down and taxes rolled in it's costing me ~$480/month with option to buy at lease end for about $16,600. The Chase deal will end by April 30th so act quick. Good thing about balloon loan is no security deposit and no bank fee but you do pay tax on the entire purchase price of the car (vs a lease where you only pay tax on the lease payments).

Good luck.

OK folks, after finally getting a decent pic host, here's the Acura N.E. Dealer Ratings List that was in my gallery here before they took it all away. The 2003 comes out in May. There's only 260 Acura dealers in the U.S. See who's at the bottom Brooklyn and Paragon shoppers? NJ is in a different Zone and therefore not part of this list. These results are from returned customer surveys.

Dealers in NYC Area

I have an 02 CLS that I leased through AHF, Island Acura, they were great, I live closer to Valley Stream Acura, so I get it serviced there... Anyway I'm looking to replace the CLS with an '04 TL, what should a lease with no money down, taxes up front be on an Auto Navi? or an Auto non Navi? plus are all Acura leases now 48 months? or will they do 36-39?

Late February I picked up a 04 SSM AT/Nav with all season mats & body side moulding from Curry Acura in Scarsdale for $35k out the door with taxes (CT-6%). The car was on the lot. Call Yuri 914-472-6800. I think they're open Sundays too.

Acura of Westchester was my choice.. did a lot of haggling with other dealerships.. Rallye Acura was useless.. They assumed everyone who walked in the door was an idiot,, I got a quote of $799 from them just for purchase an install of tail lip spoiler.. Bought car at Westchester ..04 TL black , lip spoiler, tint, and remote start for around $30,500..

Any price to me is good, but I think this is pretty good, non-Navi, right?

What remote did they put on? what material/film did they tint? Thanks.

Good deal, that's what I paid from them for 5AT, non-Navi, all-season mats, trunk tray and mud guards.

Car is auto, non navi,, they sent car out to a local shop for auto start and tint install.. Excellent job on tint, no complaints although i'm not sure what % it is.. I just told them I wanted them tinted,, not too dark , i believe they are probably around 35% all way around...As for the auto start i did not want two transmitters ( one for alarm one for start ) so they coded the current acura transmitter to start car when you push "lock" 3 times.. down side to this is reduced range but huge savings in pocket space without lugging around all that junk on key chain....

The guy to call at Curry is Anthony Meed, a totally straight shooter who treated me royally and made feel my business was sincerely appreciated....before, during, and since the sale.

Their toll free # is 866-491-1024, he's at extension 104.
