Dealer Service Rip Off: Where do I post this?

Not quite sure where to post this.

I been driving Acura's since 2000 When I got a CL3.2, then 2002 when I got a TL, then 2005 another TL, now the current..
For a New 2007TL/Navi with 5000 miles I brought it to my dealership for a scheduled service. I thought it would run around 25.00 - 40.00 bucks, its never been more, especially for the very 1st service. This all might be legit, but I want to get others peoples info on here to know for sure. (I was at the dealership this morning).

All I wanted was my oil changed (had a coupon from dealer for free oil change) and Tires rotated (had a 21.00 off coupon( also from dealer)).

My only compaint was the Bluetooth, people said they couldnt hear me, even though I could hear them fine. They said they need to special order the unit and it will be in next week, fine, not sure why they dont have spares, but ok.
But the problem was my bill. I paid 50.00+ for the service even though I had the above mentioned coupons.

I will post more info if needed, but I dont know where I should be posting this. It;s not that I want to get dealer in trouble, i just want to know if this is legit.

As for the Handfree Link..most dealers do not stock this item. We do not order the unit until an actual customer comes in and we have tried everything to fix the problem first.

Did you get a price break down on your invoice/receipt? Everything that was charged to you should have been on there. If there was something that was charged and was not done than you shouldn't have paid the bill and talked to the Service Writer or Service Manager.

Since this thread is more of a dealer service/bill issue, I've moved it to the main forum.

My tire rotation and oil change was $60-70, so your bill might be correct after applying the coupon. The bluetooth module should be replaced free under warranty.

You guys actually pay the dealer to rotate your tires? You could do it yourself for free, or at town fair tire for $10, and free if you have an account.

Unless they balance them too then it's not that bad, but then again Town Fair Tire does it for less.

While I wouldn't ever pay a dealership to do work, I don't know why you are surprised that people pay for tire rotations. Its a pain in the ass and my leave favorite thing to do. And the only reason I do it is because I have a lift and it makes it a lot easier. A lot of people have much better ways to spend their time then rotating their own tires.

For the OP - did you get a break down of the costs for each service? Do those prices reflect the coupons? The total bill seems a little high, though for a dealership I'm usually shocked with what they get away with.

For my A1 service the tire rotation/balance line item was $49.95. But to make matters worse, they didn't do the work in the first place. I paid, the tires hand't been rotated, and they haven't offered to make it right other than to complete the work. But that's a different matter...

But maybe that $50 for the rotation is an Acura-priced item that the dealer can adjust on a per-case basis?
