so me and my wife get back from a week long trip to visit our family in the states and we come back to a dead battery. like most people i keep at least one set of jumper cables in the trunk i also have a jumpstart kit but with the battery completly dead there dosent seem to be a way of opening the trunk is there a way to open the trunk with a completely dead battery it defearts the purpose of having jumper cables in the trunk if it wont open without power

THere's a little handle in the passthrough between the rear seat. Just reach in there and pull it and the trunk opens.

It's on page 83 of the 2004 TL Owner's Manual.
