hey JnC (i already shipped the stuff to you) - but i was wondering could you explain how the "demon"/angel eyes work? I opened the box fom umnitza and i understand the lit ring get's tapped into a power source. But will the rings only light up when the HID is activated?

I saw alot of pics with the angel eyes and I'm trying to understand how some ppl have the rings lit with none of the DRLs or HIDs on, but then some pics only have the rings on when the HID is on.



- btw i love the 1 ring per side look...looks so evil!!

 

^^ Well the wires from the ring get hooked to the CCFL ballasts, you can see them in the above pictures, then you get the power to the ballast tapped into either the low beam or the parking lights indicator .

 

Sweetness! I can't wait to get them.

If you are refering to mine, then yes there is carbon fiber on the sides.

 

I PM'd JnC but haven't heard back from him... probably busy doing headlights!

Can someone show me the difference between cleared headlights and cleared/blacked out headlights? I've been looking at all the pictures and I can't tell.

Sorry for the delay, here is a pictorial showing the different options.

Completly Cleared



Partially blacked out version 1, in this case the fog light opening is left chrome where as the turn signal is painted completely black.



Partially blacked out version 2, in this case the fog light opening is left untouched, the turn signal is partially painted, the reflective surface is left chrome and the rest of is painted black. This version is the more common one that I have been doing.

04-05 headlights

07-08 headlights



Partially blacked out version 3, everything is painted black except the fog light opening.

 

I definitely like these the most. Another question, at night, if you turn on your low beams AND the angel eyes, can you tell the difference? I'd love to drive around with HID fogs and angel eyes but I don't have any fogs!

me too.. blacked out version 1 please for 04 TL. If the turn signal is blacked out will the light still be visible when turn signals are on?

Is this list for trade-ins or the pecking order for everybody? Also, if I sent these overnight and gave you the money to overnight back, could I get these back in 2 days from your receipt? I'll probably be taking 3 days off sometime in the semi- near future, and could live without my headlights for that long.

 

Do you do this on 2nd gen tl's as well or only the newer style?

 

Trade-in is open to everyone, I can do a set the same day I get the headlights and have it shipped the very next day (glue has to set overnight).

^^ Sorry bud, I have been getting tons of PMs and its kind of hard to keep track of everything. At the moment I do not have any Type S headlights for the trade in program so most likely you'd have to send yours in for painting/clearing.

 

Hey no problem. I am sure you have been busy. These are my everyday lights, unless the lady goes out for a week and I can drive the SUV.

Only other way to do it, would be to buy another set of headlights, have you do the job, and then sell the extra set once I got the other set cleared. Wonder if I could buy a set pretty cheap?

 

JnC do you happen to know if S2k lenses will fit 07-08 projector housings? I've got a pair retro-fitted into my Accord, but i'm going to be buying an 07-08 TL-S soon and was wondering if they would work and how well they would work compared to the ZKW lenses.

 

Can I ask a semi-dumb question? For the trade in set-up how does that work. I Paypal you the money, the I send you my lights, you do the work and send me a pair back? Or are we all waiting on this list until we receive a PM from you ad then send the lights in? I have a pair of 04-05 lights on me now that have been collecting dust and I'd like to get i on this too(cleared/ blacked out -version 3) Just want a little more info on the whole process

JnC--you can take me off the trade-in program----unless you happen to have a set of o4-o5 CANADIAN headlights. Otherwise... the trade-in program will be useless for me as we use different bulbs.
That being said.. I'd probably have to send you my headlights in the future.

Also had a quick question JnC....are these 3" ZKW replica lenses a perfect fit or is there any other modifying involved?

 

You dont have to do any shaving etc to the lenses or the projectors but spacing is required. Spacing varies from lens to lens, 25+ feet testing to achieve best combination of color and sharpness is required.
