even as a package it is hard to do 1300 with a 13" rotor
That's for front only, right??? 1,500 for the 4 wheels is still good.

i think you are dreaming

1500 just for the front only, that's what i paid for my 6 pistons front kit

the rear usually cost more than the front coz it needs to be customize with the parking brake

here's the breakdown for my set:

slightly used calipers and bracket and brakeline: 650

new rotors and hats: 700

new pads: 80

install+drain brake fluid: 150

i am safe to say 2500 for 4 wheels is the amount you would be expecting, if u look for a DEEP discount

as i said, the rear cost as much as the front

I am interested but need to know better quotes on pricing straight from manufacturer. "rumors" don't suffice. Wilwood is has an excellent reputation and I am willing to invest in their products when hard numbers for the second gen TL are given. Six pot preferably.

why pay soo much for the back when the back is only about 10% of ur braking. all the weight gets shifted to the front of the car when u brake.

$2500 for all four wheels, with 4 pistons and drilled/slotted is very accurate. As soon as I recieve my kit, we will have teh review up, as well as in depth pictures and data on the kit. Hopefully by then this company will have become a sponsored vendor, so you can all purchase the kits.

Yes, I have the brembo setup, and they are MORE than enough for me,
I just wish PBR made some deluxe style pads for the front brakes, they seem to make pads for the auto trans cas, but not for the brembo setup.
I had the PBR deluxe pads on my Passat, great pads, good wear, no dust,
good bite, quiet, hopefully they will start making them for the brembo setup...
The stock pads dust up big time!

I have a question about this. What is the volume per piston on the 6 piston setup compared to the 4 piston, or the stock brembos. Also if going with the 6 piston setup, wouldn't the master cylinder have to be replaced with a larger volume one?

My brake kit should be ready to mount on my vehicle around the second week of August, the guys going to the so-cal meet on August 18th will see my car completely done with the brakes and wheels.

If you are interested in getting this kit before August, please post here, so that I can really push this company to go ahead and become a sponsored vendor. They havent seen enough interest to really push them to become a vendor, and I think that there is enough interest to get them to do it.

Hey Fitz,

Don't worry, I'm in. I'll put the deposit in if it'll help you guys get your sets earlier. I don't mind waiting for mine (paying balance later if it's cool with them) cuz there's too much momentum going on right now with one of my stock pics and have been scrambling to divert more funds to pick up more and with the new trading regulations, it's a fuggin' bitch. Made over $5k this week and gonna ride this one hard! Sorry, not trying to pull yer leg but when opportunity knocks, I gotsta do what I gotta do. If things work out right, hell I may have my car paid off by the end of next month....

I got a VM from your connect. Don't worry, I'll hit him up. I'm on it... -ed-

I talked to Bent at the brake company, and he recomends the dynalite 4 piston for the rear combined with a brake pressure distribution thing that will help the ABS electronics cope with the added performance of the caliper. Superlites will match the Brembos up front which will mess up the 75f/25r (or something like that) brake distribution of our cars. Unless you have stiffer springs and struts, a big wing, and slicks, in which it is like 65/35 (f/r)

Having a slotted rotor for the front would also be really cool. I am also considering something like that. Full rear upgrade + front rotors.

Talk to Loki. He'll give you more info on who to call.

Yes this kit is mainly for looks, but isn't that the whole point? We are driving a FWD car, a heavy car as well. Wheels make this thing look amazing, and by the preference for the brembo calipers on the manual, It's obvious that brakes make this car look even better. Alot of the stuff you have said only applies to certain wilwood components, the stuff we are using are the components that have been tested to more efficient and cost effective, any brake kit this company sells isnt going to hurt your vehicle, but add to it both from looks and performance.
BBK just for looks...

What is this world coming to? You are better off getting some rotors for 1/5 of the cost and paint your calipers if you're just doing it for looks.

This is like buying a Ferrari to go get groceries. But then again, it's your money. BBK is totally unnecessary unless you track your car, and a complete waste of money otherwise.

On another note, for the people only buying the rear kit... have you given a thought to brake bias? Unless you upgrade the front to increase the braking force parallel to that of the upgraded rear brakes, you will have more rear brake bias... good luck driving in the snow or in the rain and you have to suddenly brake hard.

Or maybe you just want to build a drifter out of your TL.

the 6 piston kit has a smaller pistons than 4, but total pistons area is a little bit more than the 4 pistons

6 pistons gives more control with the brake system vs the 4 pistons, and you can feel the difference if u track the car a lot

also....BBK isn't just for looks if u decide to go to the track, while the stock brakes cannot hold more than 3 laps of a road course, my BBK is capable of doing 6 laps or more without the brakes fading, and the braking power is awesome...my street pads with compound "E" is good for 1000 degrees

i should have use the "B" comound for racing, which can go up to 1300 degrees... but with a slotted/drilled rotor i don't want to crack it that soon

i didn't try more than 6 laps not because my brakes, it's my tires that were overheating so i couldn't go more

mine is slotted/drilled

i am running on street pads so i decided not to opt for the more expensive slotted rotors

the 13" rotor costs me 325 USD each with the hat, it's the wilwood SRT series rotor
