I have 2005 tl i just bought a uses transmission with 140k miles should I replace the torque converter my original transmission went at 280 almost 290. Also with replacing my transmission what all parts should I purchase

 

if you have the cash, get a rebuilt unit with from a reputable shop that uses SONNAX repair kit and a new TQ converter, will easily be $5000 but will be reliable.

If you are trying to conserve money, make sure you change the transmission fluid every other oil change with drain and refill. You also have a trans fluid filter that I suggest replacing.
