Crash Test

I just wanted to throw out there that I just read that only 3 of 11 Luxury Sedans received "Good/Acceptable" in the IIHS 40mph crash test. The Acura TL, the Volvo S60 and the Infinity G Series. I love my TL more and more every day.

There was just a segment on the 5 o'clock news about this as well. The Acura TL was the first one they mentioned. It was a 4G however.

I know it was about the 4G but surely the 3G is just as safe. I feel like my 3G is rock solid. I feel very comfortable driving my kids around in it.

Right, but the 3G hasn't been tested in this new test which is a partial front end collision. It would be interesting if they did go back and test a 3G TL in this partial impact test. This type of accident taht was being tested for accounts for 25% of all front impact crashes. The main thing is that the test is designed to completely miss the engine block since that would absorb a lot of the impact. It is nice that the 4G TL was one of only 3 vehicles that actually passed the test.

How in the hell did you miss this post??

Does anybody read through the threads anymore, or just make them up as they deem necessary?
