Covering Licensed Plate Drill Holes

Hello all,

Just wondering what is the best way for me to cover the license plate drill holes in the front? California drivers are too unfortunate about this whole front license plate requirement lol.

Thanks in advance

I got mine from the dealership. They had a box full in the back. Not sure if that's the case now for the 3G TL. You can order them, but they are expensive. I think some members got plugs from HomeDepot or Lowes that fit. Just paint them.

I would give the dealership parts counter a try. I rolled up and they had a huge box of em. Found my color and I was on my way!

hahha my roommate got a ticket not even 5 days ago for not have his front license plate in LA MESA. It is state req. to have a front license plate so removing it, your taking a risk.

All the dealerships I called had to order them for some outrageous amount of money.

I will check the dealer. Thank you!! Yes, it is required here, but if you get a ticket, it would be fix it ticket. It does risk a lot though, they might get you for something else too.

They are not cheap. I think I paid about $15 for the pair.

If you bought your car from a dealership and it didn't come with the plugs, the dealership should give them to you. But sometimes, that's easier said than done.

I live in the UTC/La Jolla area of San Diego and went 3 years without a front license plate. about 1 month ago i was going through downtown and 2 cops pulled me over for no front plates...they also made me put up my front windows to check for tint (i lower them as soon as i get pulled over) and said they were pretty light and let me go with just the license plate fix it ticket.

since then i have painted my license plate mount white so that it blends in with my WDP...gives me a peace of mind now

good luck if you go without...but when the cops have nothing to do they'll notice

So far I have been pretty lucky with tint and no license plate although my Wife got stopped for no license plate with her car this last couple of years. North County seems pretty laid back on the license plate thing. Check your glove box or where the spare tire is- maybe you'll get lucky and find a small bag with the covers.

My last car was the same, and even had holes in the front, and white too! :p never got noticed... but i really don't want to risk it.. it's just sometimes i do risky things that i should not do lol.

I just unscrewed the front license plate and found they added another hole in the center above the main holes. Is there anything that can be done or am I stuck with the front plates forever? If I'm stuck with it, can you guys recommend me something to put there? I don't want to advertise them forever.
