I promised myself no more for a while, but this was actually too sweet to pass up. So I was with my friend (who ironically enough just picked up an E92 M3), and we were late to a BBQ. I was going pretty fast and past up 2 guys in a black M6 Convertible with some deep dish chrome rims on. Suddenly I see him trying to catch me in my rear view. I slow down for him to catch up and he blows by me. We both have our top down BTW. Anyway, I catch him at triple digits and pull up next to him and yell at him to slow down so we can get a run. We both slow down to 45 mph or so and I hear him downshift (by the way he was shifting it sounded like an SMG per my friend). Anyway, I give 3 honks and we both get on it. By 70 mph I was able to pull almost the length of the vette, by the 3-4 shift at 110, I was able to pull another car. By 130 or so when I shut down I had about 2.5-3 cars on him. It was fun. I didnt expect to pull on him like I did, but it was sweet. My friend (bimmer fanatic) was impressed.

Very nice, I never really liked the M6 they are pretty ugly. Good kill, man I need to get my hands on a Vette lmao. Might have a buyer for the RSX soon, woot.

For the M6, I know they're heavy and plenty of luxury things in there. I would get the M5 if I have enough $.

Thanks man. Good luck with the sale. I think you might be able to pick up a decent early model C5 with low miles if you get good money for your RSX. I REALLY hope your next ride is a vette. Keep me posted man.

I have to say though, this M6 I ran looked pretty gangster with the rims it had on.

I know everyone has their own opinion but base on your age (unless I am wrong) calling the M6 is ugly when you can't even able to afford 1/2 of the car with your own money is wrong.

Honestly, looks and styling are subjective. However, I think most would agree that the 6 series at any trim level looks hot.

for the record i dont have a problem with the M6 specifically, but there are some cars i see on the road that i laugh at the owners for having reguardless of how deep their pockets are.

looks are subjective and you can drive an expensive piece of trash just like any other average joe

Sounds like a shitty driver was behind the BMW. I've seen M6s have no problem putting some distance on a stock C6 after 100.

I've read this thread several times over and fail to understand your logic.

So you're basically saying that if one cannot afford something, they're not entitled to their own opinion on said item? So only people who could afford to date Angelina Jolie are allowed to comment on her attractiveness? And since probably over 90% of the general population finds her attractive, the people who don't share the popular vote should refrain from voicing their opinion?

Nice kill. The M6 is fast, but those C6s, even the non-z06 have a lot of power. I think the Z51 has 400hp? Weight was definitely an advantage here. I still think the M6 should've put up a better fight. Honestly, he may have forgot about the M button.....but who knows. The reason I say this is because there is a video of a heavily modded M6 vs. a Z06 on youtube and the M6 pulled at high speeds by about a bus length if not more. Interesting....

And we all know how much faster the Z06 is than the Z51...(no offense Dr...)

Sonnick, I also saw that vid. That M6 was HEAVILY modified (cams and all the works). This guy I raced probably just slapped on some 22' + deep dish chrome rims. I'm sure they slowed them down a bit.

My Vette runs pretty strong though. I ran a 12.38 @ 115.86 the one time I ran STOCK at the track (I also was having traction issues as well). No M6 convertible I've seen has run that quick that I've seen. The M6 Vert is A LOT heavier than the coupe for some reason.
