Do a thorough visual inspection, make sure you get all 3 keys, and lastly make sure all electrical works...

You do the usual after purchase oil change is a must of course

a lot of times, repo cars are taken from people who are spending their money on drugs rather than the car payment. That doesn't mean it's a bad car, but you do want to thoroughly inspect the whole interior to make sure there aren't any drugs left behind.

ask them how the car was reposessed. Was it peaceful or a hook and book? If it was a hook and book, ask how it was towed, flatbed or just under the axles. Either way, take it to a bodyshop and have them check it out for repaints/repairs and as well for frame straightness. Towing by the axles is BAD for the TL!

banks are taking cars back for missing 2 payments- the repo company will have most of the info you need on the car

Run the VIN thru acura 1-800-382-2238x5 to make sure the recalls are done - or go get them done, doesnt matter who owns the car- recalls and warranty are on the car itself

The chances of getting all the keys back is slim so pay a locksmith - call one now and ask what to do and $, make your car safe!
I would get different license plates too- easy swap at dmv, in case the old owner has issues~

ya that's a good point about the keys if you don't get all 3 of them back. Also if you're missing the remotes, maybe you can get others and re-program the car. Don't want the old remote to open your new car...

This may be a stretch, but keep in mind that if the car was repoed, what kind of owner do you think the person was? Something to think about. Inspect the car up and down.

Thanks to all who responded. Well heres the thing...the car was repoed in another state, then sold at an auction to this used car shop. I dont know where I can get the information of how it was towed.
The car looks good cosmetically...just havent driven. Thank you for the car fax offer I may take you up on that.

Watching quite a bit of TV hmmm. The majority of repos are from people who can't keep up with the payment. Period. Not a lot of drama behind it. One of the biggest Recessions to hit just went by, things like that happen. Seizure thru drug bust are a very small percentage of the repos out there...

Not reading my post, hmmm? I didn't say they were repo'd IN a drug bust. I'm saying they were repo'd from people who buy drugs with the car payment money. And that DOES happen.

Of course, really, any used car should be inspected for such things.

I've had two friends that had theirs repossessed. One had 15 k worth of work into it and babied it but just didnt pay the payments and the other just couldnt afford the payments but beat on it. You gotta know if u dont care to pay you dont care about the car or vice versa if they love the car but cant afford payments its a good deal. Either or just check it out like the other people said. My guess is if it looks clean usually it is becuase no one wants to get their car repossessed due to credit reasons.
