So why don't we all hug and call it a day.
Actually, the honeycomb grill is one of the only things I like about the TL-S.

TL-S > TL, Love the headlights, exhaust tips and sporty look with the honeycomb grill and what not. I think I like the 04-06 interior a little better though for luxury wise, but not sport. I'd take a Type S, but when I'm driving a 6MT TL for less than half the price of a type S, my NBP suits me just fine

Hello people! of coarse stock vs stock the tl-s is better but when you take into account the performance of the tl-s vs it's other competitors that all boast 300 horses (i.e is, 335, g37, evo, sti, gs, ls) you may not be getting as much bang for your buck. All I'm saying is that if I were to trade in my 05 TL it' wouldn't be for a TL-s right now. It just seems that the TL-s is a transition car while were waiting on the 4th gen to drop. version 1.2 at best, I don't mean to offend but it's just my opinion. I also drive a 4 door 328xi the new body and it's cool, black on black with navi but I wanted shorty to get the coupe so bad I could taste it, but the price tag was crazy so smaller engine and four doors it is. I can't front though the 328xi aint fucking with a TL-S. My TL burns the 328 all day, but this discussion isn't all about speed now is it. I love the interior of all the cars mentioned but the TL-s is my fav. outer styling i like my tl (my yellow fogs next to my hids are hot, I don't like the location of the tl-s fogs), performance 328xi takes it. even though it's slower xi and the way bmw's drive are the bomb.

I was just going to say that. The sales guy I know took me to this wide open road they take everyone to. I opened that thing up and I was very impressed.

But then I got back in mine and went back to that road, I liked mine better. Thats not to say that I wouldnt like the TL-S better with some bolt ons.

all i know is that i see a lot of people dumping money into their cars to make it look like the Type-S( bumpers/tail lights/head lights/quad exhaust...etc.
by the time and money you do this all to this to a base/nav you are getting close to a type-s and don't even have a 6mt, plus a smaller motor. and one more thing IMHO the TL-S have the best interior outta the bunch too with the tow tone(Black and silver baby with red lights everywhere)

The 3.2 is a smoother, sweeter engine, but stock/MT to stock/MT the 3.5 definitely pulls harder. When I first got my TL-S/6MT I kept redlining 3rd gear on my daily commute while merging onto a certain busy uphill stretch of I-75 outside Atlanta because I was hitting 90 so much quicker than I ever could in my previous lighter '03 CL-S 6MT.

Another point - if you've got an infant seat that you're trying to shove into the backseat, you can't compare the TL-S to a 3 series, a G35, an IS, or any similar priced but smaller car. The TL-S is one of very few cars in it's price range that you can get with a 6MT while COMFORTABLY fitting a rear facing car seat.

Before I get nasty comments... I drop the kid off at daycare BEFORE I merge onto I-75 at close to 90.
