Classical music - it's all new to me!
Sorry, but I have a silly question.
I have never really listened to classical music. Not for any good reason, I just thought I didn't like it; also I felt it wouldn't be good "driving music" so I never purchased any.
Well lo and behold, after listening to Demo DVD-A Track 18 a few times, I find myself curiously drawn to take a closer listen to this genre.
I might be the 5.1 that is blowing my mind, and not just the music.
ANYWAY...can you guys suggest a good classical music DVD-A for a novice? Something with good "general appeal" and definitely one with a good 5.1 mix (preferable one that Elliot Schiner did, since his mixes in general seem a bit jacked up, compared to non-ES mixes).
As a side note, my TL arrived with, believe it or not... a BLOWN SUBWOOFER (on Day 1). I initally thought it was deck vibration, or improper mounting, as per the threads I had read. But upon closer inspection, the sound from the sub was actually just really muddy and distorted. The dealer agreed, new sub is on its way. BTW, they said this was a first for them. Am I the first on this board?
