I would
1. Use a paste product such as Mother's first to really clean the chrome and shine it,
2. Wash with detergent to get that off,
3. Put on several coats of good wax or preferably Zaino polish for protection.
Then, the dirt wil not stick, and the wheels can be cleaned easily with your car wash solution.
Wheel cleaner should be used only before polishing, as it is very strong and will remove all your protection.
One important issue - your wheels MAY have a clear coat on them. If they do, you probably should not use the Chrome polish since it is a little abrasive, just the auto polish.

Thank you, automophile.
I bought them brand new and they are still in boxes. Should I go head and apply a paste product? Do I need to perform steps 1, 2, 3 on them?
How do I know if the rims have a clear coast on them? Which auto polish or chrome polish should I use? Sorry if the questions are silly but I have never been using any car polish product b4.
Thanks.
