Chrome Door Handles?
i woke up this morning thought the side of my TL is kinda plain. So I started thinking about chroming the ext. door handle, not the whole thing but the along the slot in middle of the handle, to compliment my other chrome stuff. (grille, plates, wheels)
What do u guys think?
Also, could anyone suggest a way to do so? Colored Vinyl, paint, etc?
A photochop photo from experts and your input would be greatly appreciated.

What, like croming the inside pan? If you have chrome rims and other crome accents on teh sides it may be OK, but you have to at least have chrome rims. I personally think it looks fine as is.

there's gotta be more creative ways to ruin a TL...
anyway, you can't use vinyl - it won't look clean at all (fit/finish, color)
spray paint - it'll be the easiest, but again, the finish will look horrible compared to your wheels.

It's a personal preference thing...never liked the chrome door handles and window trim on my parents 2nd gen...don't like it on the 300 C or any other car, really...don't like accent pieces on bumpers, door trim, grilles, etc. Wheels are good, but that's it...unless it's a muscle car from the 60's-70's, chrome should be very limited.
Again, much like everything else, it's personal preference...if you like it, do it.
On a related note, I've had a change of heart...I'm thinking about chroming my Devotions, getting chrome fender flares, chroming the grille and around the license plate, chroming the door handles and mirrors. Then, to complete the look, I'm going to get a vinyl top, tan, half roof.

Agreed, since the 3rd gen has no chrome. But I was proving a point that you shouldn't make a generalized statement about how chroms is a . I love the chrome accents on the 2nd gen.

What about those thingies in the door handles(protectors), the plates behind em? And what about brushed stainless. You can only use aftermarket chrome if it matches the rims. Here is them for a benz

I think you should go for it...it will make your car stand out, hopefully in a positive way. If you have nothing else to do to your car, then go for it.
Who knows, maybe the combination of your car color and the chrome handles will look hot.

Not a Blowhole
Door handles like the TL's which extend out from the doors would like horrid in chrome - chrome looks good in some cases where the door handles are flush with the side panels, as some early Infinity Q's had.
Having one's car "standout" is I suppose a good objective, but having one's car look ricey is not. I have a picture in my collection from UglyCars that shows a clapped-out Civic, with what looks like a sewer or gas main "exhaust tip" - I swear it is 24" if it is a millimeter, and is cut into the rear bumper. Just imagine how bad that looks....but.........................
The car sure stands out!!! - it identifies the owner as a power broker in the Moronathon of Life.
My suggestion is to tread very lightly on these sorts of mods, esp on a car with little "bright trim" elsewhere. I did apply some of the "chrome" door edging to the lower front grills and like the look, but that is it.

Chrome door handles do look good on some cars, but I don't think it's for the TL.

Drifting
I think brushed aluminum (like the grille) would look nice on the TL. Understated.
