How difficult is it to change the outside door handle? I scraped the left (driver) side front door handle and lock cover against my garage. I had replaced the original lock cover with the same used for the left rear door to conceal the keyhole.

Will I have to remove inner door panel for anything or can it all be done from the outside?

Also, are these the correct parts:

• Left-side door handle
• Left-side rear lock cover (in place of the keyhole access cover)

yes, that is the part and the cap. The door panel needs to come off and you unhook a pin and latch to get the handle part out along with a few screws. The paint color might not match 100% as your paint has 14 yrs of wear and tear vs new paint.

Even if the paint doesn't match perfectly, it'll look better than it does now.

Is there page from a shop manual showing the procedure or is it pretty self explanatory if I hold the door handle open?

There are links here on the forums for the service manual. Highly recommended, especially for finding out where any hidden/tricky fasteners are located.

​​​​​​Also worth noting on these cars door panels, there is one fastener that tends to strip/rotate. To remedy this, I just grabbed the fastener with pliers (once removing the rubber cap) and pulled. To reinstall I just pushed it back in place.

no you need to tear open the inside door panel to get access to the handle from the inside.

That's what I figured and was afraid of because I usually end up breaking a clip or fastener during the process even though I have a set of panel tools.

I'm also an expert at asking stupid questions. My wife can vouch for that.
