Why even respond to that?
Somebody has to be mature, why not you? So do the mature thing and just kick his ass and piss on his ride! Chicks love ass-kickers and dudes that can pee the farthest!

I hear the same stuff from all the people at work and others. They just dont understand that i work very hard to pay for my car and thats what i enjoy putting my money into! Unlike most of them i dont have a to pay rent or a mortgage but if i did im sure money would be tight. I would like to enjoy spending my money on what i want while i am young because i know when i get a little older i will have to be more responsible with my spendings and learn how to manage my earnings!

I guess being 18 I really don't deserve my TL, but as to how I have it halfway paid for, I think I might be on the right track. Luckily I put $10,000 down, and got my payments to $399.99 a month. My family didn't agree with me buying the car, but I looked at it as an opportunity to establish my credit while driving the car I've wanted since the 3G TL's came out.
I have had quite a few comments about me having this car, but I just take it all with a grain of salt. I know what I can afford, and what I can't afford
I guess all in all I am extremely satisfied with my decision, and its not my responsibility to make my friends/family see it my way.

Damn that aint a real friend honestly...
Scholarships paid my way through college and Junior year in collge I bought my first car, youthful adventures led that car to be totalled, my friends helped me build my second car... a nice civic coupe which I still own... I bought a 350z as my 3rd car, ran into a parked car in the rain doing like 15mph and with the plastic front the adjuster totalled it... it was because of my same friends that I bought my 07 tl-s... I wanted a hybrid accord and they showed me the potential and features that acura offers their owners... I couldn't say no... so at 21 I drive a car I'm not supposed to be able to "afford" or "make payments"... the way I see it it's half a pay check and I get 4 a month so why not... the truth be told don't race your tl... baby it... wash it wax it enjoy it... don't make any youthful mistakes

I got my first job when i was 12 as a paper boy until i was 14. i made 20 bucks a week. i wantde to buy my own computer (which lead me to where i am today). I was saving every single week - i didnt have bills or anything so it was easy... and i got 800 bucks and bought my first computer...
... then i got a job at mcdonalds... after that, i worked mcdonalds and at Target (mcdonalds 6-2 and Target 3-10) every day in the summer (MOSTLY everyday - i had to have SOME time off) and then when i was at school i had a night job... from school to work... mind you, i was making like $7 so i was MAYBE taking home like $200 bucks every two weeks... that went to a cell phone, car insurance, and gas... lol so i learned to be frugle.
I have alsways been working, and more than once worked two jobs at once in addition to freelancing web design.
I was going to join the Marines after high school but I got an unbelieveable offer for a job interview with a company called Metavante - where i currently work (and ironically enough, am at right now lol). at 19 years old I make as much as a middle aged man... which is very beneficial to me... because im, in some senses, waay ahead of the game. I just got a new place and this car... so life is decent... im by no means rich, but i have figured out a decent way to invest my money and save it. I also just signed paperwork to make my freelancing situation into a reality - in the next month I will have my own LLC.
Web Design is what I LOVE to do, I just got a new position at my job for web design, and this LLC for extra spending money...
The sticker on my car was $29800. I got the car for $26300 and put a $5000 down payment... payments on the car are steep - $470 a month and then my rent and insurance and gas and cell phone and everything... but the way i see it, im going nowhere but up. My school i initially pay for, but depending on my grade, i get tuition reimbursement at work - if I get an A they pay 100% if I get a B 90% a C is 80% - so that really helps!
I miss out on the "fun college life" but i know that im the only one my age with what i have and i can lay my head down at night knowing that i have earned it... at the same time, i kind of miss bein a kid - a kid in the sense of not having bills and all responsibilities and stuff

Three words... "buy real estate" Don't waste your money on a car. Trust me, I've been there and done that. When I was your age I did a lot of the same things that you're doing. I drove a new vette AND a new full-size Blazer, had a great job, went to night school (fulltime schedule - all paid for by my company - and graduated with honors). It wasn't until I got married and had my first child that I realized that my dad had been right all those years. I got rid of the Vette and my Blazer, and replaced them with a Honda Civic 4dr and a Ford Escort Wagon. The wife and I saved every penny until we could buy our first house (at age 24).
Looking back and thinking about how much money I wasted on cars and insurance, and if I applied that money to a house... Oh well... should have, could have...
Anyway, to make sure my son doesn't fall into the same trap as me, I just bought him his first new car - a Sonata. I also told him that when he "finishes" school, I will fund his business (he wants to do landscape design).
Oh, by the way... You may THINK that you're making the same as a middle age man. So did I when I was your age (I just turned 40). Trust me, stay in school, invest your money, continue to work hard, and the next time someone asks you why you drive a TL, you can say because I could pay cash for it.
Can someone help a middle-age guy get off of this box? ;-) ...and sorry if I offended anyone.
