Car won't beep when press lock twice on Transponder.
Ok fellas I have a 04 Gen3 and have noticed that ever since I bought the car the car does not beep when you press the transponder twice to lock. I read on the forums and saw that a few people had the same problem. So what I did was check all the door locks and trunk lock to see if they would activate when I opened them on the dashboard and they door. But when I open the hood it doesn't do anything on the dash. So what I did was lock the car and armed the alarm with me in it and tried popping the hood and the alarm didn't not go off. So I'm thinking it has something to do with the hood not sending a signal to the alarm to tell it that its locked. Any ideas what part I need to replace to fix it??

i think your issue is the keyless lock acknowledgement setting is set to "off"... you didn't specify year of your TL.

^-- what are you talking about, it totally wasn't there before.
My info is no good then, but probably a similar setting on the '04.

I have a 2004 and even though the setting on the MID is turned on, my car still doesn't beep.

Yep, my alarm works fine, but the car doesn't have that high-pitched beep when I lock it via the remote.

does the beep work with the passenger 2 key?
When I reprogrammed all my keys somehow my master key wasnt set properly so the passenger 2 key beeps but not the primary.
My guess is I would need to reprogram all my keys to fix

Do you get the red flashing LED telling you that system is in fact armed?

Yes next to the drivers lock it blinks red and on the radio it blinks as well if I open any of the doors from the inside the alarms goes off and if I pop the hood the alarms off too.. I'm starting to think its the mechanism that makes the beeping noise thats bad.

I'm thinking you are right.
The alarm is actually arming as evidenced by the flashing LED.
You can set off the alarm as noted above.
The only thing seemingly missing the the confirmation beep.

It's been awhile since I looked this up and know I have posted it previously but believe the alarm protection circuit consists of the following:
4x doors
Trunk
Engine Hood
Radio
Ingnition.
if te circuit isn't closed (complete) it won't beep. You can also tell by the flashing red LED on the driver's door. I believe if that if flashing the alarm circuit is closed and armed. If you still aren't hearing the beep., it could be the beep mechanism itself.
