Car smells moldy?
you may have a water leak, check the trunk, carpets and door seals. Also you can buy an A/C cleaner product that will clean the A/C drain and coils, that's where the smell usually comes from.
I’ll tell you what worked for me with the disclaimer if you choose to try it you do so at your own risk.
Fill up a spray bottle with about 50/50 white vinegar and distilled water. Remove your cabin air filter. Make sure car is warmed up and turn the ac on and fan on max. Make sure recirculate is off. From the outside of the car mist in the vinegar solution from the fresh air vent slowly. The outside fresh air vent is located by the windshield cowl, if you’re having a hard time finding it place your hand over the cowl with the hvac on and you’ll feel air getting sucked in. Slowly mist a good amount in then switch from ac to heat with fan on max and repeat the same process of spraying some more vinegar solution in. Keep the car running for 15 minutes with heat on blast with all windows rolled down. Now install new cabin air filter preferably one with charcoal.
When driving with the ac on and on recirculate make it habit to turn the ac and recirculate off and just leave the fan running allowing the evaporator to dry up. Also make sure your ac drain line is not clogged. Change cabin air filter once a year.
