Which Car Do I keep? '04 TL or '03 G35 Coupe Both 6 Speeds
Hi Guys,
Recently bought a friends G35 because it was a terrific deal.
Now I'm considering getting rid of my 04 6 speed TL. I haven't driven the G35 much to get a feel for it but I do enjoy my TL, except for the whole front wheel drive thing which is a joke.
My TL has 90k miles silver on black interior manual and I have added some small touches. It looks great and is in mint condition for it's age. Getting 25mpg+ average
The G35 has 120k miles also black interior and silver, in rougher shape but has more hp, rear wheel drive and is 2 door and looks sportier.
Who has had both? What do you think?
Thanks!

When it came time to buy my car, this was the 2 cars I was focused down to. My buddy has an 03 g35 with about 100k and he has done some light modding and is def a sick car.
At the end of the day, my final decision came down to a couple of things...
1. You see g35s EVERYWHERE.... not everyday do you see a TL, especially if you have some mods done to it already.
2. TL is much more comfortable on the inside, roomier and the interior blows the g35s away.
I may be wrong with this assumption, but I would want to think maintenance on an Infiniti would be more expensive than an Acura, but again I could be wrong. Plus if the TL is in better shape, you are starting to get into the high mileage range.

G35 maintenance interval is every 3750 miles which is pretty crappy considering my '99 gs300 was on 5k interval. And i believe TL is on 7500 interval. It would saves you twice as much to go with TL. Plus g35 gas mileage sucks. I barely get 17mpg in the city but mine was 4 doors though.
Ultimately for you, the question comes down to 4 doors vs. 2 doors and see what your needs are.

To be the odd one out, I'll say keep the G35.
If only because you say TL is in great shape and you'll get a good amount of money for it, and then you'll be able to get a nice 08 TL-S in 2-3 years when you realize the G35 is actually not that good of a car. Oh and by then, you'll need 4 doors

Mileage is irrelevant if maintenance has been kept up with.
I'd keep the G if you can sell the TL for more than you bought the Infiniti for.

Drive the G35 back to back with the TL and keep the one that feels better.
I hated the G35's 6M heavy clutch and slightly clunky shifter (not appropriate for a sport-lux car, IMO) back in '05; the current G37 clutch and shifter are pretty good, but the shift knob vibrates incessantly.
The 3G TL interior is much better than any G35 interior, though.

Keep both, if you have room and it its not putting you in a financial situation. Personally I've always needed a 4door car so that would definitely play a big part for me. I would let time decide! Take some pics of both!

If you don't need trunk space, and never have the need to carry more than one additional passenger, keep the G35. But if you do, flip the G for a profit, and buy your TL a present.

tbh my housemate has a G35 sedan with 175k miles with no complaints.
I'd pick depending on whatever you plan on using it for. commuting? TL for sure. 30+ mpg highway is unbeatable in a car that size. Comfortable as hell too.
Having driven my housemate's G35, I'd choose the TL any day over it. Interior is worlds better in the TL.

When i was deciding between the G and TL, i test drove number of Gs and TLs and like the TL more! Its just a better car over all but i wish it was rwd. But then its your choice.

I'd sell the G35 and keep the TL for a couple years until the prices on used G37's or 4G TL-SHAWD 6MT's come down a bit, then sell the 04 TL and upgrade. Or, use your TL as your daily driver and go berserk on the G35 with a twin turbo or something.

at least it dont snow up in FL. i drove a g35 and i like the steering in a TL better. interior is all for the TL and in terms of style it really depends on your preference. both look good to me. if you like modding and being more unique the g35 has a larger aftermarket community and more people you can run into that might share the same passion for their G35. here where i am modded tls are rare. G35s here have a weekly meet at a carwash so theres always some place to see more of them. i wish there were more TL enthusiats here where i can talk about TLs with them.

I was consdering g 35s before I got my TL. they were louder, a little rought around the edges and the interior was BUTT .....IMO. Now the 07 G 35s are veryyyy nice. Different body style and much better looking. id prob take an 07+ G35 over any TL.

Keep that G35 AND the TL if it is an x but if not...off that fugly "G dog". My decision was 05+ G35x or 06+ TL. I am not on the G35 forum. I spent years in BMW's and every winter it was the same thing..."look guys it's gonna snow tomorrow and I will not be into work". After driving the G35x through gravel and water it was not what I wanted out of a computer driven car. The TL is functional in winter and the opposite of FUGLY.

Sell both and get a 6-speed Type-S.
