Gee. I just had an amp and subwoofer added, and it sounds great.

I guess I better take it out, huh?

ummm i dun think an amp needs to be buetooth compatible. doesn't the phone communicate with the head unit? the amp and speakers just output the sound right? if i were you i would take it someplace else and see what they can do for you.

So does this mean the speakers are connected to the head unit via bluetooth? That would be kinda cool though. You could just buy other bluetooth compatible speakers, amps, mp3 players and just link them via bluetooth. :toothless

Sounds like Car Toyz doesn't know what they speak of.

Um, no Bluetooth tomfoolery was involved. I just had them tap into the speker cable that leads to the subwoofer, put an in-line converter on it to bring it to line-level inputs, and plug it into a Pioneer amp that powers a couple of 10" subs in a speaker box.
Of course, the amp had to be powered and grounded. But that's it.

Maybe they get the phrases "add an amp" and "replace my whole head unit" confused.

Find another installer.

The "whole car" is certainly not Bluetooth, and BY is only between the head unit and the phone interface.
