I gotta scan it in. I tried taking a picture of it but it didnt work
Ill get it done tonight...
I was actually pretty disappointed in the loss between the motor and the wheels(drivetrain loss) on the auto.. Its alot less than the manual tranny ,but the intake kinda makes up for it.ill post it up this evening.
So far, i love the intake, and it seems like the car is running alot smoother as well...
oh and mine was Dyno'd on a Dynojet.....

Intake wise, the motor is fairly quiet under 3500-4000rpm, anything over that, you start to hear the intake roar... over 6, it screams "go daddy go"

and under normal driving , it's supposed to get better gas mileage... which it seems it does...
Intake will be available to the public in 2-3 weeks, for street price of 279.99...
you'll be able to buy it for about 230.00 from a retailer. If i can get enough people to buy.. i can probably do a direct groupbuy from them and save some cash....

I can probably do the group buy for sure.. as far as Acura warranty, shouldnt harm it, but they will not install this for you since its aftermarket.. but its pretty easy to do.. teh insructions and everything needed will be included in the box.

guaranteed that every modified acura and honda on the road has a cold air intake system installed adn no one has ever ahd any problems. Your dealer is gonna tell you that it doesnt void the warranty but if you engine blows up or whatever, they'll try and blame it on the intake, and they can never prove it.... but thats why you always take it off before you take it in for major problems...
i had one on my '03 TL-S and never had a problem...

also, I assume this system uses some kind of high flow filter like a K&N that on its own would account for some of the gains as well - is this correct?

Stunning. Now that I know it doesn't void the warranty, I'm in for a group buy as well.
When you say it's "simple" to install, does that mean those of us wearing white collars with minimal tools can perform the install?

On a side note: If there are a few ppl in the bay area who purchase this, perhaps we could get together over the weekend and put them on at the same time? I'm not much of a mechanic, so any help would be appreciated.

ok ok geez.. i saw it but didnt have time to post a answer..
As long as you can read simple instructions and are ok with tools, you'll be ok...
You have to remove the front bumper though... its 6 clips and 4 bolts... thats the hardest part, everything else is simple..

Have to admit...I've NEVER been interested in aftermarket, but the CAI seems like a natural for this car.
Just a piece of stealth muscle that those around us won't notice...at least not until they get smoked.

I noticed Injen has the following disclaimer on their website about their CAI kits:
"Injen Technology Cold Air Intake Systems should be removed in any wet climates or on any wet roads or highways. Failure to comply with the above warnings may cause water to be absorbed into the engine through the filter causing serious damage to your motor."
Is this anything to be concerned about, or is it legalese and the filter protects the engine adequately? Would be a pain to have to remove the CAI assembly during the rain season here in the SF Bay Area. However, if there's any chance of trashing the engine on my brand-new TL I would steer clear of this performance add-on. Just curious...

BTW - What is C.A.R.B. LegaL? Does it have something to do with California? If so, will making it C.A.R.B. legal come at the cost of some HP? If so, would it be possible to get the non-C.A.R.B. version for those of use not constrained by the California emmission requirements?
