cai

hi guys, i was gonna get a cai and was wondering if anyone knows the model number for the k&n which was supposed to have a "bag" by the filter to prevent it from sucking in water. i just read that from one of the acurazine post so i wasnt sure about the real name for it.

also does anyone know of a cai that already comes with a bypass valve. i looked around the forum and just read about modifying it myself but i dont wanna take that chance.

i also read about xephyr intakes but seem to not find the website for the company.

thnx guys

AEM seems to be the best. Get the V2 (http://store.excelerateperformance.c...c/i-47067.aspx) with a Hydroshield from Injen (http://www.autoanything.com/air-filt...A2582A0A0.aspx)

i have the k&n and i took the bag off , it is suppose to repel water but by submerging the filter it wont help at all. K&N can be fit as full CAI or converted to a Short Ram. I wouldn't get the AEM since i have seen many proof of poor craftsmanship. To me performance wise i don't think there is to much difference between all of them. if someone can prove it to me then i'd be willing to swap mine for an AEM v2.

weaponR makes a short ram intake also but i would not recommend as i dont know how good their filter is....

oh i guess ima need some more research on it. but do you know if since the k&n intake converts into a sri, can i just connect the bypass valve where the cutoff on the intake is. i dont have no clue on how it works but like i said ill still do some more research. thnx alot though

dont worry about water unless you plan on submerging your car in water....so i would just go with whatever cai you want a be done with it...sri- i would not recommend since you would just be sucking in hot air from the engine and not provide the same performance upgrade as a cai and would be more for just sound! hope that helps
