Buying used Acura TL Type S with 102,000 miles
Hello everyone, i am a new member here, so please help me with this purchase. I basically really love the TL type S that a dealer has in stock now. According to it's website, the car has 102,000 miles on it, and it has been driven by 2 different drivers. Long for short, this is the link
http://www.premiumoutletbyasc.com/de...-10081231.html,
the car was serviced at Radley acura where they changed timing belt, NEW TIMING BELT, NEW WATER PUMP, NEW BELT COMPRESSOr, NEW TENSIONER, NEW POWER STEERING PUMP, COOLANT TYPE 2, BRAKE CLEANER, NEW REAR BRAKE PADS, ROTORS RESURFACED AND OIL CHANGED. The dealer also provides all the documented paperwork. So my question is should i buy this beauty? for 17,000. Thanks for reading my post.

If it's been taken care of and has all its maintenance records, I wouldn't be hesitant to make an offer on the car.
high mileage vehicle with maintenance > low mileage vehicle that's been neglected IMO

If all that info is true and its been regularly maintained I wouldn't hesitate. 102k isn't a big deal on these cars with regular maintenance. They will last a very very long time. The timing belt and water pump is already done so that is a plus. KBP is a great color too.

That is seriously such a rare color combo, I am search now for a KBP with the Taupe interior now.
IF ALL MAINTENANCE WAS DONE, GO FOR IT!! These are great cars, and the most expensive service has been done already.
Its very hard to come by, I let an 07 type s KBP slip away but had 83k miles, 2owner, sold for $16k at a GMC dealer in L.A.

Price is decent if you can haggle a little bit. Ask for OTD price (out the door) including all their bs fees and stuff. Also get your own tags if you can; dealers charge you like 150-250 if you don't read closely just to get you your tags. Get 30 day tags and tell them you'll do your own DMV run.

Car looks to be in good shape. It's beautiful too. I'd adore a taupe interior in my WDP Type S.
1. Request hard copies of documented service.
2. Test Drive.
3. 17K isn't bad, Market Value (Source: Clear Book, USAA) is right at 17,235.
4. Read up on common indicators with the AT transmission and timing belt stuff, just so your educated when you go to look at it.

anyone wants a mint taupe interior and trade me for their black/gray, ill do all the work and put cash on top to make it sweeter!
Mine is kbp with taupe interior! See if you can haggle a little bit on that price man. I looked at one at Radley when I bought my kbp 2 years ago. Went back to pohanka and bought there.

If you like driving stick ofcourse it's cool, but it's by no means a different car.

So this is basically the story today. I wanted to trade my Subaru Impreza 2011, which has 36,000 and i still own money on that car. They appraised my car and told me it work 14,500 ( i bought it 19000+tax 10 months ago). They said if i trade my car for 14,500; they are willing to to let the Acura go with the same price at 14,500. What do you guy thinks?

Ok, thanks guys. I will pick this babe up tomorrow. As long i checked the car. They haven't replaced the O2 sensors, and the exhaust resonator looks rusty. I did test drive the car, and it was extremely smooth and fast. So hopefully, i can haggle a little bit more for those items mentioned above. I do not think they changed the transmission fluid, so will ask them to change it.

What a beautiful car, and I love that color combination.
I agree with what previous posters have said -- if the service history is solid and documented, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I think if you're okay with going from a AWD system to a FWD, you'll find yourself happy in a TL-S, and a KBP at that.
I'm not completely sure what sort of options you had in your Impreza but I can say that the TL-S is well equipped!

how much money do you owe on your car? are they paying it off for you?
#31
Yes, they are paying it off for me; i just basically need to pay whatever i own before. However, the problem is that they want me to finance with their creditors, in which increasing the interest rate up to 21%; whereas, with my bank right now it's only at 5.9% (i pay 200 monthly now); if i get this car it will be $436 (250 dollards more). I may have to pass this babe.

whoooaaa 21%??? thats ridiculous!

Doh! ![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
Good, at least you're thinking about it. Just keep in mind they want you to buy it, so you can always walk and make them work for you.

holly crap 21%, they are trying to rob you? KBP is a plus then when I see the interior seem like the previous owner know how to take care of leather, seat seem in good condition for the mileage. See if you can refinance with your local bank after a month so you can bring the rate back down to 5.9%. just walk away and look for another one.

TLicious Type S
That's an astoundingly high interest rate. You will always do better financially if you can sell yours outright, and buy outright. Perhaps that's not possible, but 21% sounds pretty unscrupulous. Good luck but be careful bro!
#37
Don't know what happened there, this is not my first time i get financed, and i do not have bad credit. All the previous loans the interest rates always as low as below 6%. When i asked them if i can finance with the current bank i have, they just automatically denied it. Love the car, but financially i have to stay away from this high interest situation. Thanks for you guys' replies. I really appreciate all of them.

Can't you just get a loan from the bank and pay cash to the dealer?
