Buying a TL soon

Hi guys, pretty new to forum.

I am looking into buying the Acura TL 2004-5. I've test driven the BMW 330i, Infiniti g35 coupe and sedan, Acura TL, Nissan Maxima, and found that I was most impressed with the Acura. I thought the BMW was 10k over priced, I thought the G35 was an awesome car, and had great appeal and the interior was pretty good, but none of the cars could match the TL and value, price, options and that sound system. I'm going to try and get the Acura TL with navigation, and try and get as close to invoice as possible. Will probably try and trade in my Ford Mustang 2000 /w 23k miles, and add about 6-7k down getting my payments around 350-400 a month. Hopefully Acura will work with me.

Anyways, nice meeting you guys.

From what has been said in this forum, there is a great disparity in the dealers around Texas. Read back a little bit and find the most "hospitable" dealership who will give you a good deal. Do a little search and I'm sure you will find the name of a good dealership.

Good luck to you. Many ppl here did test-drive those cars and make the same decision as you've done.

Hope your future new 04TL is as perfect as most of ppl here have had. :o

I'm trying Mcdavid Acura right now.. Hopefully they will work with me.. I'm not sure I like the female GM inside.. She was trying to press me from putting anything down.. and I'm like.. If I don't put money down.. I cannot afford this car.

Well I checked my credit rated.. it's in the excellent catagory.

I want to get the Acura with navigation.. I want my APR low, and I want the car near Invoice. I want to put about 6-7 down, and my Ford Mustang 2000 with leather, and 23k miles. (I keep my miles low on my car) That should get me near 13k down. I want the car at 350-400 a month and I want to keep my Tax Title and Licence already paid for.. it cheap.. Not sure if I can work that deal. I'll have my work cut out for me.

What really pisses me off is the guy with the g35 sedan was not even going to work for me. He said my women drivers would pick a TL over an Infiniti, and I'm like.. I guess most women drivers are smarter:P If Acura will work with me and Infiniti won't.. I'm easily going to be getting that Acura TL with out even looking at the G again.

I doubt seriously that you will be able to get a Nav near invoice because of its popularity and shortage unless the dealer is REALLY desperate for a sale. But then again the worse they could say would be no. You could do much better on a non-nav if near-invoice is a must. However, I was only able to negotiate $2000 off sticker. FWIW

Im sure you can I didnt do anynegotiating and I said 33,200 and the guy was sure. I told him I was still looking and was trying to get a better deal he said go ahead and he would beat it so im still looking.

As far as your payments go I went to intellichoice and put some numbers in for you.

By making a down payment of $13,000 and paying $400 per month for 60 months, you will able to afford an automobile that costs $34,196 . You will need to qualify for a loan of $21,196 to finance your purchase.

You still will have to pay sales tax on that but you should be able to get a TL around 32-33 and tax will take you to 34-35 But you can deduct the sales tax from your trade which is nice. Remember get your best deal dont ever ever ever ever mention you are thinking of trading in a vehicle never ever ever. Car F&I people can make you look like they nocked off 4k off the car and there giving you 10k for your mustang and you still end up paying 35k for the car. So be carefull. Make the best deal your happy with usually getting them to throw some goodies in then tell them u decided to trade your car instead of selling. You should get a much more realistic number this way. Hope this helps

Go to Sterling Acura and talk to James Hicks. Nice guy, easy to work with. Tell him Brian from San Antonio recommended him.

Anyway, I got about 2k off sticker for a 5AT/Navi/Anthracite/Ebony but I added a decklid spoiler, tint and mudflaps.

Check him out.

Check with your local credit union - we got a loan for about 2.9% over 60 months. Much better than the Dodge dealer could do when we bought our truck. Plus there were last minute "tricks"
