Buying decision problem

Well, I am back in the market of buying another Tl again, i totaled my last one last month, it was a 05. I am having a buying decision problem and cant make up my mind. These are the 2 cars

Pearl white with ebony interior, 6 speed, navigation system.



or... what i had before in which i totaled


NBP with ebony interior, 6 speed, non-navi

I think what is holding me back is the navigation system, i dunno if I can justify the extra $2000 for the car. Can someone tell me from experience if the navi is well worth it or it sucks dont waste your money on it. Another thing that has got my attention is the setup of the pearl white car. It is currently the only one in texas and states that border it that has the combination of Pearl white with ebony interior and a 6-speed with Navi. I had a couple dealerships to a search on this particular setup and none were found on dealership lots. Most Pearl white TL's have tan interior and on top of that are autos. The best they could do was a special order that takes 2-3 months. With TT&l included with this car they want $35,875... Damn i cant make up my mind...... Is the navigation worth it or should I special order with same setup without navi.....

I would go with the White one. The nav is worth the money...Go with the unique setup since you've already owned a NBP/6mt non nav. I believe no one here regrets having a nav. Those who regret are the ones with non-nav.

Go with the nav. I have it on my 05 6sp and think it's great and well worth the extra $$$. As someone with a lousy sense of direction, it's so convenient and helpful -- both for simple things like figuring out which direction I'm going (very helpful when exiting from highways onto poorly marked local roads) and more complicated things like guiding me to new destinations. Plus, it's great to be able to look up local stores, restaurants, etc., hit a button and have the car tell you how to get there.

Yeah...having a navi system is a great convenience, but I tend to get lazy and rely on it heavily.

White with ebony is nice....and navi is worth it....im glad i got it.

Yea I think the pearl white with ebony interior looks really awesome. Ok I think i am gonna go with the navi setup, hell its only money. Gonna put 15,500 down and that makes my payments right at about $380, non navi I was looking at about $340 month.

It's your car and your money - go for it! What is $40 a month in the long run any way?

Personally, I don't have nav and have no buyer's remorse. My car is used almost exclusively for an 80+ mile commute every day. I know where I'm going, so I don't need the nav.

It is a cool feature that apparently is well worth the money from the comments posted on the board.

The Pearl White with Ebony interior sounds awesome! It all comes down to personal taste, but I have never cared for the mix of the aluminum and wood trim in the Camel and Parchment interiors. If the aluminum had been replaced with wood, I would have gone for a parchment interior and a different exterior color. I've got Anthracite and Ebony on my '05 5AT.

I've never had Navi until my current TL - wow, what a difference. I travel a lot for work - and it's nice being somewhere and saying "go home" - and it calculates a route.

Plus I believe the HFL/bluetooth are part of the navi option? Not sure.

My wife's '04 MDX has no navi - and it's the family truckster - so long trips STINK without navi assistance (Mapquest isn't nearly as fun). Her next one will have it for sure!

I personally have no use for Nav.The only times I ever need to look up an address is when planning on going somwhere and then I'm always near a computer i.e. mapquest etc. No reason to spend 2 grand on something I don't need and even if I had it would barely use.

You know whats the best thing about the NAVI?

You enter your destignation lets say Home. You are driving on the path and you feel like trying to figure out another way. So you just make random turns down streets and the NAVI recaculates the route and shows you Miles left and Time to get there.

So many times, I will just be like I am going to try and turn here to see if this leads me out where I am going.

Also I going exploring now knowing I will never get lost.

Its 2k but I feel its worth it. Plus as for looks I think the car looks great with it.

The interior definitely looks a lot better with NAVI than without. The TSX looks fine without NAVI but the way they have the layout on the TL, it doesn't look that great without the NAVI. I also like having the XM stations and audio menus in the NAVI screen too and you can use the touch screen to change XM stations. The voice commands are pretty cool. Oh, and the NAVI tells you where to go too! And a phone book.

Get the white, it's a nice color and the ebony int. combo only started this year. I didn't want to wait back in Dec. for a white/ebony navi. so I got the ASM instead. I didn't have navi. in my 2G and even though I don't really use it in my 3G as often now, it still comes handy every once in a while.

I agree on this color choice - my friend liked my car so much - he got an '06 a few months later. white/ebony/navi/5A. His has some of the A-SPEC parts on it - rear spoiler, side mouldings and bumpers. Looks really sharp - especially when clean!

Though - with the weather here in NJ - his looks much worse than my SSM when dirty or covered with salt.

WDP/Ebony

As far as Navi its nice to have. We use ours atleast once a week. Worth it? Depends if your just going to work everyday. If you travel out of state by car or your city is full of 1 way streets like ours its great to have. To begin with I thought we were wasting $2K, but we have used it a lot more than I thought we would.

Picking up my car today, i decided to go without the navi. I found a WDP w/ ebony interior and its a 6 speed manual. ITS GONNA BE FUN!
