Buying 2005, what mileage, 60K or 90K miles?

hey guys have a question, what do you guys think?

considering buying a 2005 TL, which one of the two should i get?

60K miles vs. 90K miles - thats pretty much the only difference and its costing me 2,000 more for one with 60K miles.
I ask because i prefer to go with more mileage for less money but my wife is arguing with me that I can't get any car over 50-60K miles because she thinks the car will give trouble and breakdown on me..

please help solve this situation..what do you guys think?

If it were me I would buy the 60k car. 90K is a lot of miles for a 2005. I only have 40K on my 2005.

If you are financing it, $2,000 won't make much difference in the monthly payment.

IMO you can't let mileage be the only deciding factor... I would much rather buy a higher mileage car that I know has been properly maintained and cared for, then a lower mileage car that the previous owner has been lackadaisical on the maintenance...

only 2K more for 30K less?

if both cars are in excellent shape, get the 60K one

at 90K you are 15K away from a t-belt and that is almost a $1K job at the dealer.......

I have a 02 CL-S and things I have had to fix before 82K (current milage) were

1. Lower ball joints (45K and 65K- left)
2. Crossover pipe (61K)
3. Rear brakes (55K
4. Front brakes 81K

third gen cars seem to have troubles with the HFL (Bluetooth) but that would not deterr me from buying one

I think you should keep shopping. I just picked up an 05 with 45k miles for $16,900. I'm an impatient bastard that loves to pounce on halfway decent deals, but I'm glad I held out for a better deal.

I just checked values on kbb.com; the 60K car was worth $3050 more than the 90K car. Check this out at your zip code and all the features etc. This is something to consider, especially if you happen to wreck it on your way home or something.

Assuming both are in the same shape, have been maintained properly and have similar equipment (navi e.g.), my vote goes to the TL w/ 60k miles. Your 15k miles away from the TL's first major service if you bought the 90k mile one.

thats a great point will take into consideration the major service at 105K.
so wut is the best way to get service records for a potential car. how do i go about doing that. do most dealers have that info available and is it available on service like carfax?

^^Does it have nav? I have a pretty sweet deal lined up on an 05, WDP, with 47k, one owner, no nav, for $14,900. Given the great price, I plan to do the nav install if I go with the car.

To the OP --if both cars are comparable condition wise, without question, go with the 60k mile one.

I think it's worth spending a little extra $$$ for the lower milage. It's going to take you at least 1-1.5 years to get to 90K...what's $2000 in a year, not much.
