Buy Tl From Carmax Or Acura Dealer???

My girlfriend is also trying to purchase a TL (used), but there's no Acura Dealerships that has a used TL that matches what she's looking for. However, Carmax has a good number of them. Should she just go ahead and purchase a used TL from Carmax or wait indefinitely for an Acura Dealership to get more?

Doesnt really matter. If you find the car for the right price buy it anywhere you find it.

If the car is still under factory warranty, I would buy from Carmax anytime. I have co-workers and friends that have purchased cars at Carmax and they vow to only buy their cars from them in the future. There are a few drawbacks...

1. They don't negotiate. The price listed is the price you pay.
2. Her loan interest rate may be higher than buying a CPO from Acura on a Acura program.
3. If you buy a CPO, the car comes with a factory warranty to 5 Yrs/62500K miles and a powertrain warranty to 7 Yrs/ 100K miles.

Good luck.

Get your financing out of the way before you buy a car. ALWAYS!!!!!!

I ran my credit last month and pulled a 816. Honda of American (who acura uses) gave me a 7.94% rate and that was their best case rate.

using my own credit union I was able to pull in a nice 4.9% loan.

right now the rates are high outside of credit unions.

Depends... American Honda Finance often runs special interest rates for Certified Pre Owned Acuras. You can sometimes get 2.9-4.9 on tier one credit depending on length of the loan.

Let's say she does buy it from Carmax, can she get extended warranty from an Acura Dealership? Will it be a little different since she didn't buy it from a Acura Dealer (the warranty that is)?

I believe that is only available for new cars.

They have 2.9% but it's for a limited term, 36 months. They also have 4.9% for 60 months. Both of these are for new though. I bought my Acura a month ago and got a 5.9% rate with american Honda Financial. I also called my credit union and they were more than Honda, they were at 6.9%

You can buy the extended warranty any time up until the original warranty expires.
