Burning smell
I need to know if anyone else is having the same problem....I have (sorry, my wife) a 05 TL with a auto trans. When i drive the car hard for a few minutes (i.e. hard acceleration and hard braking) I can usually smell a burning smell of either fuel, burning brakes or maybe it's the tires.
I can't figure it out, any suggestions?

I took mine for a fun run the other day. It was the first time I drove it hard for more than a few seconds at a time. When I parked in the garage, I could smell the same smell you are probably talking about. I thought the smell was more like something getting very hot rather than burning. Kinda like plastic or composite getting super hot.

I have same issue at 19kmi, always had it. Dealership says its a byproduct of combusiton.....whatever. I would be very interested to know if anyone had maint. performed to fix this issue. I guess Ive gotten used to my car farting everytime I get on it.

I have what smells like burning wood when the heater first kicks on. The dealer told me to use the recycle setting and it has helped some. Not sure where it is coming from, but my kids complain about it every morning on their way to school.
If it requires burnoff I would think after 11000 miles it would be gone.
