burn DVD-A?
#3
I posted this in the other "DVD-A" thread. But I'll expand on it here. There are 2 problems. Not only is the equipment not available to do so. But even if there was. You won't get the true digital information.
Under the agreement(s) in that stupid Digital Millenium Act. No DVD-A or SACD player, is allowed to output the information in digital form. It's against the law to make a unit that will output these 24 bit/96Khz-192Khz bitstreams. So it's not so much a matter of copy protection as ability the ability to do it period. The equipment manufacturers must output DVD-A and SACD information through 6 ANALOG channels. If a recorder comes along that allows the copying of 6 channels of music. You'll get a 16bit/44Khz copy, if that.
The industry wants to prevent people from making these super resolution copies, and selling them on the street.
