Bumper Repair Place in Virginia area?

Hey everyone,

I recently got a new 06 TL and just the other day, I got hit in the bumper by another car and that person's license plate made a few dents in the back of my bumper. It's been really bothering me since and I've tried to call all these Paintless Dent Repair places but all of them have said that I will need to go to a Body Shop to get the work done. Their reasoning for this is because the Acura bumpers are made out of plastic and only body shops can do this type of work. Seeing a price quote of $500 from one body shop to just get my current bumper repaired, I thought I'd take matters into my own hands and try and use touch-up paint to repair the damage. It only made my bumper look worse!

Right now, it looks like my only options are either to 1) repaint and repair the entire bumper 2) buy a brand new bumper and have it painted

Option 1 obviously sounds cheaper than option 2 but I'm not too sure.

Anyone have an opinion on this?

Also, anyone know of any good/inexpensive body shops in the Virginia area?

Agree with the recommendation for Quality Auto Body. I've been there a few too many times for my taste (four incidents in three different cars; one crash was my fault, the other three were not), as have my father and brother

Anyway, I had the front bumper on my TL replaced there in November or December of 2004. It still looks good—indistinguishable from the rest of the car. Those guys do excellent work. I believe it was around $550 to paint the new bumper, remove the old one, and install the new one. Not cheap, but then, finding a trustworthy auto body shop is more important.

If you're interested, they're on Draper Drive in Fairfax City, perhaps a mile west of Fairfax Circle—if you know where the Harley shop is on Lee Highway, then you're in the right place because Draper Drive is the road opposite the Harley shop. Quality Auto Body is halfway up the road on the left side going from Lee Highway. The part closest to the road is a one-story brown brick building.

Hey all,

I took your guy's recommendation for Quality Auto Body and went there this morning to get an estimate on my bumper. I got there at around 8:30, got an estimate of $238.20, and got the job done today. They basically had to repaint and refinish my entire bumper. They finished my car by 5 and when I went there to pick up my car, the bumper looked brand new!!

You all were right. They do excellent work there. They also have great customer service. When I dropped off my car this morning, they even gave me a ride to work.

I would highly recommend them if anyone in the Northern Virginia area needs to get any body work done.

Awesome!

Glad they repaired your car right the 1st time.

Last Friday some chick hit my rear bumper on my way going to the hospital. We pulled to a near by Starbucks. She was so scared that I would start yelling at her, but I didn't. I was very calm as she said she will pay for the damage. It's very minor and it cost about $200 to repair. I'm going to get it done next Friday. I trust my bodyshop since I have been there before.

I was thinking... the chick that hit me.. she was kinda cute. I think when she meets me at the shop next week, I should say no, you don't have to pay. How bout I just take you out for dinner?? Haha. Anyways that's her fault, so I'll make her pay, and then ask her out for being very nice and honest person.

So, what happened with this? Shouldn't there be an update by now, or did things go SO well that.....

Yeh....duhhh....brain fart on my part. Sorry. For some reason in your post of May 3 I read "next Friday" as "this Friday." Not sure what I was thinking there.

Hey chicks dig the TL right????

Most importantly, I want my car fixed. I'm just a little worried about the repaint. I trust them and all, but I feel a little nervous this time
