breaking the car. until 600? or should i wait longer.
i just got my new 04 acura tl 6 spd. and i was wondering what is the break in point for the car. it says 600... but people say i should go over? what did you guys do?

Breakin, shmakin. Just drive it. Maybe baby it for 100 miles or so, but seriously, IMHO this engine does not require breaking in. In fact, some say driving them hard from day one is the best thing you can do. You decide. However, the 6MT transmission does, I think take some time to break in, I'm at 7500 miles and its is getting less notchy.

I took it easy, with some short bursts because of driving conditions, for the first 600, but after that, I couldn't wait to have some fun with it. The car practically begged for it during the break in. I really couldn't wait to kick in the VTEC, which sounds really cool on this car. Like seamg, the 6MT is still a bit notchy, but much better now than before 600 miles.

wow. well i reached the 600 mark. and today i finally got to gun the car. man i love this car. when vtec hits, it's just like, OMG. haha. you guys all probably know. i let my friends drive it, and now the transmission feels a little used. im gonna cut down on the sharing haha. but yeah, this car is a great one.
