Break in period?

HelloWas wondering how legit the break in period really is.The manual says not to drive it full throttle, or break hard during the first 1000km. Is this really true? If so, would it make sense to drive it carefully for even a longer period of time like 2000-3000km?Nevertheless, I was a carefull driver during the first 1000km. After that I drove on the freeways at 160km/hr on two separate occasions. I only hard breaked twice after the 1000km.will it be ok?thanks D

The break in period is pretty legit, during the 1000km/600 mile period, the rings and seals need to be seated properly, and as well the metals need to expand and contract and "get used to each other" before going crazy with the car. Failing to break in the motor properly could result in oil consumption problems later on in the car's life.

You can drive as fast as you want, just make sure you don't rev past 4K RPM during break in, and as well you don't brake very hard (panic stops unless necessary).

Also be sure to change the oil when the car tells you to. DO NOT change it early. It has additives in it that help with the break in process so the fine metal particles from the engine work does not damage the motor. I cannot stress this enough, DON"T CHANGE it!!!!

The break-in is legit for the first 500 miles, but it's hard not to full throttle this beast from time to time .... LOL ...

Happy motoring ....

i would have to say the break in period would be more in the area of 100 miles...after that everything is seated and broken in....

do what you want, or follow the owners manual...its your call....
