Question Brand New 06 with 350 miles Price Range

Hi,

I am getting a brand new Acura WDP, with Chrome wheels, Ipod Auxillary In, and Rear Spoiler for 31.5K (OTD...i.e. 30K w/o taxes) from Pohanka in No. VA.

But, the problem is the dealer has used the car for 350 miles for test drives. If I want to make this as a negotiating point to get the price down further, how much shall I expect the dealer to come down? Also, how would be the car after it is >300 miles driven for a new brand car? Any catch in that?

Please suggest me a good price that I can put up to the dealer to compensate myself for the miles driven. i am thinking of 29500$ to put to them. What do ya'll think?

I say offer them 29500. whats the worst that can happen? they say no? then walk the hell out and im sure they will stop you.

BTW you should check to see how many miles classifies a car used. 350 miles seems used to me.

BTW, The price that I got from them for 31.5k is for Non-Nav, Dealer Stocked Car which is 350 miles driven.

chrome stock 17" wheels? if its aspec wheels then take it. =]

i dont think 30k for a TL that most likely have been driven pretty hard when not even past its break in period is a good price.. unless they offer you extended warranty for free too.

I dunno, it depends on where you live. Some people have been getting theirs with navi for 31~, especially with the 06's.

Go to a different dealership and get a quote for a brand new one and compare.

IMO, 350 miles isn't even that much... most "demo" cars have thousands of miles, albeit most come as CPO's.

Though I have paid little attention to TL prices since I bought mine over 2 years ago, I have noticed that some members are getting great deals on a TL with Navi. Not too much more than you are paying. I'd look into some other dealerships if that interests you at all.

350 miles of test drives = 1400 1/4 mile bursts.

Therefore I would offer as if the car had 1500 - 2000 miles on it.

With NAV OR NO NAV?

Is This With Nav Or No Nav, I Went To Pohanka In Chantilly, And Just Because They Are The Biggest Acura Dealership In Usa, They Think They Can Do Whatever They Want. I Had A Really Bad Experience. I Went To Radley Acura, And Bought An '06 Demo For 29k With Nav, And They Gave Me Free Oil Change For Life, As Long As I Own The Car, And Also Free Inspection Every Year. Pohanka Only Gives You The First Oil Change. Radley Was Great.

LOL! Sorry I never known anyone to abuse a new car on a test drive. Especially when the sales person has to go with you.

Well, I paid $29.5k for a 06, non navi, no options for one just off the truck. (they had to order it) $30k for one with those options isnt a bad deal. I dont know how much lower your're going to look. Have to figured out the invoice with the options and the $1k rebate?

Isnt 31~ w/o taxes though? In his case 31.5K is with taxes.

I broke the cars back when I test drove it, then bought the one sitting next to it.

abhijeetjhala, I wouldn't buy it unless you can get over the 350miles, otherwise its used and you can get one with 0 miles for the same price. Ask yourself if the rims are worth the 350miles?

And how do you know the one you bought wasn't floored?

I can tell you it was floored and the brakes were slammed from 50~ mph to 0 during PDI. That is part of the tests they do to make sure the car is working properly.

i wouldn't buy it for that price. I would offer them 29k OTD becuase you don't know the long term damage that could nave occured due to the test drivers. I would also have wirtten in the contract that if there is any damage due to the test drivers, a signle cent should not bbe even paid to fix them (that includes labor) Also i would want them to throw in trunk tray, mud guards and carbon fiber cupholder trim too. (yes, i know i go for the littlest of details)

I just picked up mine last week from the same dealer. 31.6 OTD. It had 14 miles on it, with Navigation. I shopped around at a few different dealers getting price quotes then took the lowest one to Pohanka and they matched it. ( Pohanka was the only one that had the color combo - RRP / Camel - in stock. Shop around for prices on new ones. As others have said, 500+ miles aren't that bad however you don't know how those miles were accumulated. Good luck and let me know how you make out.

I had 80 miles on mine when I bought new and thought it was a little high, but that's partly because they had to deliver it from another dealership 40 miles away. So 350 miles seems like a LOT of testdrives. You're already halfway through your break-in period. That's somewhat the joy of driving a new car, the first few hundred miles.. it's gotta be worth at least $500.

You should check out Radley for deals. Got a 2006/AT/navi for 31,800 (before taxes) with 2.9% for 36 mos. Free oil changes for life(all new cars) and service dept is open till 2:00 am. Pohanka didn't even come close by $1500. Radley, Pohank and some Florida dealer that opens 24hrs a day are the top three dealers in sales by volume in the U.S. Take your time and DEAL!!

High mileage for a "new" car.

I wouldn't be worried about the customer test drive. I would REALLY worry about the ass wipe new car salesman that brings it home and that person drives without regard.

afterall you are paying at a price of a brand new car aren't you? 350 miles is a lot of miles if its pure test drive. whether its test drive mileage, or moving from a lot to another, 350 miles is a lot and I'd consider it a used car.
