i would put tints on for numerous reasons.

i think it looks better, gives privacy, deters theft so people dont see whats inside, reduce heat / UV rays.

Think "contrast". The contrast between white (WDP) and black (tinted windows) looks really good to the eye. The best looking TLs on Acurazine are the NBP and WDP ones that take advantage of the contrast. I myself have ABP.

All TL's look good with tint. The B and C pillars are black, which lends itself more to having the windows tinted because everything then blends in well together.

That's somewhat of a loaded question. To be honest, I do not think it's allowed, so you'll need to be careful because you can get a ticket for it.

The first consideration you should have is resale/trade-in. Tinting can reduce your market or have a negative effect on a trade-in (it can give a dealer leverage to lower his offer).

However, if this is not a consideration for you, the reasons that ionojumbo gave in post #2 makes sense. It's really as simple as that.. assuming cost is not a consideration.

I use to tint my cars super dark min 5% to max 20%....

Lately, I enjoy 35% on the sides, and 20% on rear window... The contrast is great, it looks classy and cops don't bother me.

It comes down to personal preference man

Personally I will never own a car that isn't tinted. It helps with heat more than you may think.

Living in the southeast, tint is a must to keeping car cooler. The less heat coming in the the windows, the less energy it takes to keep the cars a/c to work harder to maintain temp. You know how a lot of our older members 3rd gens have cracking dashes. Thats from excessive heat from sun. I dont advocate tintng windshield though but tining everything else will help. If you dont like even 32% get the even lighter 50%. It sill blocks all u/v rays that dammage leather etc.

Iv never been a fan of going dark on the back windows and lighter on the driver and passenger windows. Kills the flow. Mines 20% all around and it looks great. I plan on doing the windshield 50%

I really think doing 50% all around, front windshield too...... Car would look Awesome..... Dark tints on White looks wack.......

I own a WDP 07 and am going to do 50% all around...... Ony of my friends did this to the 4th gen TL 50% all around and a cop pulled him over cuz he couldnt see him inside the car..... cop came with the window tint measuring tool and the tints read 41%..... and the cop didnt even notice the front windshield tint on his car..... Cop let him go....

Just my 2Cents....

so were not even allowed 50% on the windshield? personally i prefer to have an even % for all 4 side windows. i would not like the rear is darker than the front, and in terms of resale you can put tints on and later remove them either yourself or professionally, it shouldnt be too hard of a task.

I think you'd be nuts not to tint WDP. White cars seem to always look a lot better once tinted.

Tint on all cars looks sick. But I prefer not to limo that ish out. I like to have the ability to faintly see inside the car.

You saying 50 like its dark? 50 is very light, the lower the number the darker the tint, mine is 20 and its dark, 5 in limo, 35 is light/legal. 50 you can see right through.

I'm with Crest, I have ~18% all around, and my windshield done in 35%. If the sun hits it just right, you can barely see in there

"Better" is subjective. Most people find tints to be both a visual enhancement, as well as serving it's purpose to block UV rays.

my roommates car got broken into...the thief purposely broke the tinted window as the tint keeps the window from shattering (making alot of noice) and they guy was able to reach in and unlock the car...cops said it was common to happen...

but i agree, tint looks amazing, cools the car, especially WDP...however, its illegal in Jersey for the front two windows to be tinted...i dont want to deal with the cops and deal with inspection so i have no tint ...plus i dont like the look of just tinting the rear and back windows only without touching the front tindows...just my

^ smart thief you got there i didnt even consider that idea. while it has its negative effect during a theft, on a side note when you get hit from the side tints can stop the glass from flying in your face too then.

Overall tints provide purely benefits, the only downside to tints is looks for those that really care but most of us would agree tints look better anyways.

Forgive me for this undoubtedly noob question, but what do WDP and NBP stand for? A quick Google search didn't bring up anything, so I feel like I need to ask.

Thanks!

i agree with the consensus that tint is vital to a TL's looks. tint just looks better on cars, whether it be white, black or any color. keeps the interior much cooler, also protects the interior, leather, etc. just got my 07 NBP tinted 20% around yesterday, have to wait a few days to get the full effect but so far i love it. it's a suddle change to the cars appearnace but it shows up loud overall. go with the tint. you won't regret it.

The Mercedes blue tint would look great with WDP. I went with a charcol color myself at 20% all around.

I think that a white car with dark tint looks just as good, if not better, than a black car with dark tint. My tint is really one of the reasons that I started to like TL's... I didn't care for them until I started car shopping and came across a white one (which I eventually ended up buying) with tint. It completely sold me. It's by far my favorite thing about my car. My only regret is that it's not darker and my windshield isn't done. When I decide to re-tint I'll probably go with 20% all around and 50% on the windshield (I'm not completely sold on the windshield yet though).

Not only does tint make it look 200x better, but I can't explain how nice it is on a hot and sunny day. I can't stand riding around in a car with no tint now just because I'm used to how much cooler mine is. Pun intended. I would always recommend tint and will never own another car without it!
