Thumbs up Best Product I've Purchased For My '04 Tl -- Clear Bra

Have you seen the clear bra protection for your TL? You probably haven't considering it's virtually invisible. I was introduced to this product from a co-worker who had the clear bra installed on his new RX-8. This product is something I would recommend to anyone who cares about preventing the inevitable rock chips that you get from simply driving your car. It definitely beats putting an old black bra on your car! I even found a local company here in Orange County, CA. that will come to your home to install the product! The price is reasonable considering the alternative, re-painting your front end every year! If you haven't heard of this product, and you care about the look of your car, you need to check this out!

this sounds like a commercial. i've seen the clear bra in person and its not invisible. its really hard to see but i can see it. someone had it installed on their Z8 at the new york autoshow and i spotted it immediately. i was on the fence about the clear bra because of rock chips but after seeing it in person its not for me. i dun like rock chips and i dun like the look of the clear bra. its a lose lose situation for me.

I got mine on Dec. 10, 2003 when my car was 5 days old. I completely agree with jbledhb that it is the best product that you can get to protect your TL. I got mine from Jeremy at invisaguard, the Northern Cal xpel.com rep.

It is a little expensive, but well worth the cost. I have 6000 miles of mostly freeway driving and no paint chips so far.

I got it from Jeremy last Sat. Still curing out couple of bubbles. But the product is worth every penny.

I heard that over time it will develop a yellow tint to it. Any truth to this?

You should ask "How much do you charge?"

Even if I were to consider getting it, I would not want it installed by a mobile dealer. This should be done in a controled environment, not my driveway.

Yep that's why I'm going with my Acura dealer.

Can it yellow, yes, but the chances are very slim. The product has been known to yellow from driving such things as diesel trucks a lot. The fumes can stain the film. 3M states 1 in 20,000 kits will yellow. The good news is companies like us offer lifetime warranty for yellowing as long as you own the car. This would only be noticeable on white or maybe silver cars.

I had Clearshiel installed on the hood, fenders, and mirrors last weekend @ a shop in Glen Burnie. They also tinted my windows.

There is a little confusion as I wanted the bumper done as well but they are not sure their vendor can get it for an 04TL .

They did a great job on both the tint and clear bra. :worship:

Here's one company that does it. Saw them at the auto show in NY. Much cheaper than 'Stoneguard or Armerfend'.
For those in NY there are two places in Bayside, Queens but I haven't used either so do your homework. Her's a link to the Company web site and you cando a Zipcode search for a dealer near you.

ClearBra is a must esp.if you do a lot highway/freeway driving. The problem with vinyl bras is that it can ruin your paint and it's a headache to take on/off after it's wet. ClearBra is definately one of the best investments you can make for your car.

I'll take my chances on the chip if the only other option is that hideous line across the hood. INVISIBLE???? Not quite.

those were my thoughts too. pictures posted on the net do not show what they look like in person. it's not completely invisible, that line runnning across the hood would drive me crazy.

Do you tell this to your customers, too?

So the original poster has not commented back here... hmmm.. very curious. Are we supposed to find out who in Orange County to call by guessing?

Anyway, I did get a vinyl bra due to a road trip where I did not have time to look into a clear bra first. After the initial install, I don't think it will be that much of a pain to take off and put on again. It will mainly be put on for road trips, as I don't want it on all the time. Though, it does not look near as bad as I thought it would. To each their own.

Bra-less?

Personally I'm not a big fan of clear bras. However, if I logged tons of freeway miles and had cars that showed lots of wear due to rocks and such I would consider the product.

For example, a friend of mine has s 2001 Honda Accord and her car looks like an add for a rock quarray, in that case, a clear bra would of been in order.

My 2 cents.

No truth to this. I got my first clear bra 4 years ago and it still hasn't turned yellow.

Very rarely will the material turn yellow, but most companies offer 5 years to lifetime on the film for that very reason.. 3M is coming with the next gen anyday now and they say the material will carry a six year warranty on the film for yellowing.

How can anyone think the clear bra is hideous or stands out? Better have something than nothing. The resale value increases too
