Arrow Best deal out there right now. What do you guys think?

Okay... Not the BEST deal out there... I just made it sarcastic just to get some attention because I need a lot of you guys' input.
I am looking to check out a TL tomorrow. It will be this car.

http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/in...2&cardist=7800

I personally think this is priced well and i think it is a good deal.
I would love to pick up a 07 but my budget just won't allow me that

I am going to check this car out tomorrow(Possibly buying it)... so my main question is...

What should I look for?

I will be checking VIN numbers, paint job if they were repainted, check carfax for clean title, check under the hood see if there is anything odd etc..

What would you guys do and what can you tell me to do?

Let me know please.. Would love to get some feedback by tomorrow morning.

Thank you

sam

I have Navi, so i dont need one.
It looks great with navi on it but number 1 priority is White car to be honest. Couldn't find any better deal than this one.

Have you talked to the dealer on this yet? Did you ask if it had a clean title? I was looking at cars in that area a few months ago and that dealer had a few TL's but they were all salvage title cars. I would be very careful and make sure it hasn't been in an accident even if the title is clean.

Thank for the find dave, but i dont know if i will ever buy cars on ebay. especially w/o driving.

@sddale, it says that you live in Madison WI, and you checked out in San Diego area??
Hmm... hopefully this car is not salvage title. I will definitely pass if it is. I will have to call them in tomorrow to check on that.

Any suggestions on what to check ???

I would suspect its a salvage title for that price and the fact that it does not refer to a clean title anywhere in the add. Remember, even if it has a clean carfax it still could have been in a accident. A good way to tell is to make sure all the vin tags found in the doors, hood, and bumpers all match. Also, I'm always a little more wary of 3rd party used car lots. Many times they buy a wrecked car and fix it up cheap so they can turn a profit.

these prices are too good i do find it a lil strange. But I will call them in tomorrow ask them if they are all clean title and will go down there and check carefully.
what do you mean by 3rd party used car lots?

I mean that they sell used cars of different makes. They are not an Acura dealer. The safest way to buy a used car would be from a private owner IMO. That way you can find out if it was maintained properly and in any accidents. I would rather have a TL that was a little older for the same price from a private owner. This would give me greater piece of mind.

Great price, but Just from looking at the pictures, I'd say at least the front and rear bumpers have been repainted as they look as if they match the body and on a WDP we all know that's impossible. Not that it indicates the car was a total, but at least check the VIN numbers on all the doors, trunk, hood, and rear bumpers as the front end needs to have panels removed in order to view them.

as a reference I just got a used 06 from a private owner a few weeks ago in the DC area. It's an Auto, non-navi, 60k miles, very clean car, well taken care of...it also included the acuracare warranty w/ zero deductible up to 100k or 2013. I got it for 14500, which I thought was a good deal...i was also looking specifically for a WDP, but went w/ this ASM simply because of the warranty and the condition and the price (below book value)...

I also would have liked the navi, simply for it's voice activation features. I used to have a voice activated navi Honda Ridgeline and it was a very nice setup, but quite honestly i barely used the voice features - it was more of a "cool" factor than a necessity for me.

I lived in San Diego and bought my car there a few months ago. Google that dealer and you'll be able to read some reviews. When I called them the guy I spoke with was honest about the car having a salvage title. If you end up liking it you should get a professional pre purchase inspection done on it.

No Navi? Also if you buy a Certified TL from a dealer you can get 1.9% financing up to 36mo or 2.9% up to 60mo. You may pay a bit more for a certified car, but if you plan to finance you're not going to find a better rate.

Meh, of course its just personal preference. I can understand the auto is more attractive to some people. It isn't my thing, and I much prefer the 6MT, but I shouldn't have passed blanket judgment like that.

I test drove it and it was great. Paint looked good and everything belonged where it should be.
I asked them for my car trade in value and they told me that they can only give me an auction price because they are putting this TL-s an auction price(total bs). I walked out today trying to negotiate but it didn't work. Basically they gave me 4000 dollar auction value of my car (mazda 6 hatchback 99,800 miles good condition).

so here is the math.

21,990(price of TL-s) + 55(document fees) + 1924(Tax 8.75%) + DMV Fees(579) - 4000(my car trade in value) = 20,550

what do you guys think? i didn't get a lot of discount maybe few hundred, but this TL seems like a great price to start with.

feedbacks welcome

As I stated in my followup post, it was my bad for passing judgement like that. Personally I prefer the 6MT, but it was wrong to say the auto is fail. I'm sure it meets some people's needs better than the 6MT. I went from a manual car to an auto and I got so bored of it. Finally I bought a 6MT 3G TL and I'm loving it.
